And don't act like Americans didn't do some crazy shit to prevent Japs from invading. Thousands of Japs in America were sent into camps for months.

The Japs didn't want to accept defeat.
The A-Bombs were the only thing that stood between us and millions(no hundreds of thousands, but millions) of deaths on both sides.

Even after the bombs were dropped, the night before the Emperor of Japan officially surrendered, there was a coup attempted by a general, to try and over throw the emperor and send a radio broadcast enouraging every single Jap man, woman, and child to take up arms and fight the Americans.

3,000,000 Soldiers/Civilians is more of a cost than 145,000 civilians. If we invaded some of us might not be here (Like PiEman [Damn!]). We did what we had to do. We sacrificed the lesser amount for the same effect.

They were all part of the war. They supported the empeor. They worshiped him as a God. They all swore to fight to the Death. Racial extinction was preferable to them over surrender.

We OFFERED to settle for negotiations. MULTIPLE TIMES. Each time, Japan told us to go engage in a procreative anatomical impossibility.
We told them that we were going to nuke them unless they surrendered. This IS, of course, after all the firebombings, which is one of the most psychologically damaging thing you can do to the Japanese. They STILL refused.
We bombed them once.
They refused to negotiate.
We bombed them AGAIN.
They came to the table.

Now, had we gone ahead and INVADED, ALL of those so-called innocent people would have died anyways, because they would have taken up arms against Allied soldiers. Not just Americans, but Australians, Russians, and possibly Koreans. Each side would have lost MILLIONS.
And this is somehow more ACCEPTABLE to you?

Well, maybe your priorities are screwed up. After all, we have our countrymen fighting and dying so you guys don't revert to control of warlords or Taliban types, and yet you blame them for the bloodshed.

I find this somewhat ironic, when you're actually fighting on the side of the people that drove planes into the twin towers for little reason other than hatred. It doesn't matter how bad the nuking of Hiroshima was. The alternatives were even worse. And there is absolutely no comparison between Hiroshima and 9-11.

Hell, technically speaking, the Japanese didn't surrender even after the second bomb. We then flew every single plane we had over Tokyo (under the pretense that each was armed with the same weapon), and with the Russians preparing to invade, they finally surrendered. We tried every recourse other than invading, which would have killed many more on both sides, so I don't see what the problem here is.

And as I said before, most Japs weren't even going to surrender by that point.

srry i waz half asleap when i posted that...and i cant spell...but he was a great president before the war...BEFORE!...a year into the war he didnt do much for the contry...just for the war...

Not true. When you have a war going on, the media doesn't tend to focus on the little things the president does.

And you both fail to mention that the implementation of the Atomic Bomb saved the lives of MILLIONS of Japanese civilians. Had we not used them, we would have had to invade, costing huge amounts of both innocent Japanese and American soldier lives. The use of the atomic bombs was the lesser of two evils, and while it may seem like an atrocity, you'll find that it was a well made, bold decision.
