A new DLC, the Rebellion Pack was announced a couple days ago. Includes two new maps, six new characters, and three new weapons. Also, new objectives.

Rough estimates is sometime in June or July.

Lance Hendrikson confirmed a few weeks ago that him and Tricia Helfer had recorded new dialogue for the extended ending.

Because the extended ending will just be a two minute longer cutscene following a 10 minutes long WTF bullshit scene. The ending will still probably be crap, BioWare will just say why it is crap.

Why would it still be crap? A 10-minute cutscene that fleshes out the effects of all you did sounds like it would pretty well patch up the current ending.

A typical "what happened to them afterwords" of an old 80's film would be fine even.

Leaving aside the thematic problems of the ending and the fact that nothing you do before selecting Red, Green, or Blue affects the end, it's not going to change the fact that the last two words in the Mass Effect series is "Downloadable Content".

Because we were promised multiple endings, and I only see one. We were told many times that there would be no A, B, or C ending- I guess they didn't lie because we got Red, Blue, and Green. Because the last ten minutes introduced the most important change in the series. Because the Shepard that always looks for a third option just begins accepting Vent Kids words as fact even though it's killed him before. Because there is a massive genre shift in the last ten minutes. Because the final boss is a mook. Because Vent Kids logic never has, and never will make any sense. Because the whole "Synthetics and Organics can live together" thing is just forgotten.

The dlc is supposed to flesh out the endings and add variation to them. That solves pretty much everything else you just complained about.

I liked the Reapers a lot more when it was not explained why they were trying to wipe us out, that whatever reason they had was probably beyond organic comprehension. When they tried to explain it without making it obvious, they ended up just making it stupid.

Lines like that were a lot scarier and foreboding when you didn't know why they were doing it. When you thought these ancient creatures that come from no where and built by no one just appear and destroy all living life because they want to it was scarier.

Because space jesus told them to? not so much.
