REAPERS IN LONDON FUCK YEAH!
I thought I'd have to wait until 2012 at earliest, happy and concerned there's such a fast turnaround time, as ME2 isn't a year old yet.

Damnation. Holiday 2011 is very vague.
As it can either be Q1 or Q4.
As it can either be Q1 or Q4.
Re: MASS EFFECT 3 [now with spoilers]
Most likely Q4, there's no way they could of done ME3 in under 12 months. 23-24 months for a late November/December release makes sense to me.

My guess is that they maybe had half a team on two and half a team on 3? I dunno...Vigil wrote:Most likely Q4, there's no way they could of done ME3 in under 12 months. 23-24 months for a late November/December release makes sense to me.
Also, I hope it's like Fallout 2 where you have a set time to complete the game or everyone dies.

Oh you think it's Martix Reloaded/Revolutions style and the made them both at the same time? Possibly, but there are a lot of plot elements to ME2 and the DLC, and you would have had to have all this planned before starting them, and even though it's Bioware, I'm sure they played it safe and sorted out ME2 before heading into 3.
ME2 does have a bit of that, as once your crew gets captured, if you go through the relay right away you save all of them, and if you stay behind and do other things, a lot more of crew dies including Kelly.

You can only mine for minerals. But no side quests. It's not really a time limit, where as Fallout 2 you had 14 days in-game or you were screwed.Vigil wrote:Nocbl2 wrote:My guess is that they maybe had half a team on two and half a team on 3? Fallout 2 was a while ago, and neither Fallout 3 or New Vegas went back to those days.
Our sandbox games are a lot less restricted and while in ME1 and ME2 the story was the crux of the game, you never were restricted from going doing some side quests, expect at the very beginning and very end, and they always made it clear where the point of no return was. I think the same will be true of ME3.

Re: MASS EFFECT 3 [now with spoilers]
haha, wow. This Mass effect thing is getting out of hand, it hasn't even been a year since ME2. I'd prefer it if they just took their time and did an extremely good job.
2 Million in the first day? Maybe more like 2 BILLION in the first day...

I think the title should have something to do with the contents of the thread :/
EDIT: I agree with ring, 2 million doesn't sound like the right number

It does when you think about the level of defences around Earth, coupled with the fact that the Reapers whole goal kinda revolves around living humans.

Re: MASS EFFECT 3 [now with spoilers]
Reapers can sorta control peoples minds, that 2 million could be higher or lower depending on their goals. It looked like they were just, shooting everything possible without really trying to capture anyone.
Also, you'll notice that guy ejecting a casing, probably meaning thermal clips or ammo in ME3....
Thermal clips should be a luxury item, like if your guns about to overheat (in heavy combat), you could eject them, otherwise it takes a while to cool down by itself.

they've already said the mass effect 3 development timeline is looking to be the same as ME2 which means 2 years 2 months

Re: MASS EFFECT 3 [now with spoilers]
I never understood why have thermal clips. With the amount of ammo lying around, it was practically impossible to run out of ammo.
Re: MASS EFFECT 3 [now with spoilers]
Yeah, it never really had an impact on gameplay...
Thermal Clips may also mean ME 2 engine...

Re: MASS EFFECT 3 [now with spoilers]
It was there to try and speed up combat and make it more frentic, because you wouldn't just sit back and keep shooting until you overheated then wait and fire again.Gold Spartan wrote:I never understood why have thermal clips. They expect you to use a lot of your ammo in a fight, especially on higher difficulties, and then having to improvise on the last few guys, and then you get some ammo ready for the next encounter.
That idea is good in theory but with the abilities recharging pretty damn quickly, you could really more on them than you could with bullets.
P.S: What's with all the ME2 hate? It's still on my track on being my favourite game this year.

All it was there for was as an incentive to move forward and not make you constantly camp. Just like in any shooter with an ammo system.

Re: MASS EFFECT 3 [now with spoilers]
I think they set the ammo limits for the shotgun and maybe the sniper too low. The shotgun ran out of ammo before you were halfway through most encounters.

Re: MASS EFFECT 3 [now with spoilers]
Hmm, I don't recall ever having an ammunition problem. Probably because I mostly used Assualt Riffles, but when I didn't I never had a moment where I out of ammo and died or had a harder time because of it.
