Well, A survivor from Alpha Company (In the wake of a massive nuclear explosion, it's possible. Assuming Alpha Company was the one on Pegasi Delphi).Rotaretilbo wrote:Personally, I don't get why they didn't just use Gamma Company instead of Alpha. I mean, we have 300 Spartan-IIIs from Gamma that deployed in early 2551 that are completely unaccounted for, and they decide to use Alpha?
As for the rest of the team, it would actually make LESS sense to make them Gamma Company.
As per Halo: Evolutions, survivors of initial Spartan III deployments would be farmed out to other programs. Gamma Company Spartans would not have been, shall we say, 'Baptized by Fire'.
What, Emile's EVA? Looks ugly, no reason to use it planetside.Ringleader wrote:Eva then?
EVA as an armor variant? Sure, for space deployments.
Believe it or not, guys, Bungie DOES apply Rule of Cool to their games.Ringleader wrote:Recon looks weird, even the shoulder pads have these little metal bits sticking straight up.
IF you want to ignore RoC, then drop the complaint about the "little metal bits sticking straight up" and focus on the fact that the Spartan is holding a pump-action shotgun... in the twenty-fifth century... that is standard-issue hardware...
Jorge's helmet does look weird. I hope those little widgets on top are some sort of targeting system...KrAzY wrote:I don't like Jorge's helmet or Action Thermist

Just in case you guys care or maybe you don't but...
If you go to Bungie.net and see there newest Bungie Weekly Update, they answear some questions and have audio files for some of the familiar weapons and one unknown one.
Just throwin' that out there for ya.

And KrAzY, you mean Action Thermos.

The Lone Wolf is probably from Beta Company (which was the one on Pegasi Delta), though how he survives without Tom and Lucy knowing when they're camping the only exfiltration craft is beyond me. The rest are all Alpha Company, per their birth dates. They'd have all been far too old by the time Beta Company started recruiting.

The issue is that, generally speaking, the S-IIIs operate for six or so months prior to going on a suicide mission, and then, only if a suicide mission is present. If they were still alive by the time Reach was attacked, I'm sure they'd have been ordered to haul ass over there, because that essentially was a suicide mission.

That hasn't stopped others from using EVA on the ground and non-EVA in space.

It used to be that Bungie understood what cool was for a mature audience...

I still have a point.
If you're going to talk about something looking stupid in Halo, Legends has a very good list.

EVA = Extra-Vehicular Armor Armor, I was referring to its looks, not its logic in game.

So... the shotgun is cool? Or the shotgun made the armor cool? I was kind of, talking about, the armor without anything else, by itself, it looks weird as hell. The random squares of metal in the middle of large sections makes it look like some aborted power ranger fetus with metal squares sticking out of it.

Re: Halo: Reach
Also, Emile is insane, which explains the skull. Possibly from the drug Kurt gave them for the adrenaline boost?
Beta on May 3rd (w00t).
New enemy type called the skirmisher, however since it is an offensive and we almost are never on the offense, i find it acceptable. They probably would never be in an escort fleet (such as in New Mombassa the first time) or on High Charity, which really only leaves Crow's Nest as a level where they would be.
We are working with the Army instead of Marines or Navy, so most new human weapons are acceptable. Only leaves the Needle Rifle as the canon-questionable weapon.

Anyhoo, Tom and Lucy weren't camping the ONLY exfil craft. Again, if I recall correctly, there were several, scattered out across at least a square klick.
While I agree that Lucy not speaking later on is a good indication that Wolf didn't exfil with her and Todd, I'm curious as to what happened to the other crafts...

OK, so Gamma Spartans would be perfect for the job. Doesn't mean they're the only ones around, though.

Wrong Spartan series.TNine wrote:Also, Emile is insane, which explains the skull. Possibly from the drug Kurt gave them for the adrenaline boost?
Why is the Needler carbine questionable? The Covenant have used variations of needle-weapons before.TNine wrote:We are working with the Army instead of Marines or Navy, so most new human weapons are acceptable. Only leaves the Needle Rifle as the canon-questionable weapon.
As for you, Ringleader...
All I can say is that I rather /like/ Recon.
