Re: Zombie War - Warnings
I was trying to get out on the freeway when the traffic got really thick. I was basically at a standstill when some guy pulled me out of my car and cut me. I didn't know what to do, so I just ran.
I thought I was dead until I saw you on the roof.

I didn't see. It seemed like a second between the time he cut me and threw me out of my car.

Re: Zombie War - Warnings
With the safe destruction and incineration of the infected within your walls, the stronghold once again seems safe enough. Unluckily, the black smoke, or perhaps the stench of burning flesh has attracted yet more of those previously occupied on the freeway to banging against your gates. All exterior windows look sound for now; but the basic blockades against the door are beginning to shift.
On the roof the guard notices a military helicopter flying at low altitude. The fire is enough to catch the pilot's attention - but regardless it flies by without stopping to give you pickup.
The unbitten refugee's infected wound is now basically clean and healthy, though bandage changes are still fairly regular. One of them asks if it would be possible to be moved to a room with a working television so they can watch for any news of the situation outside Nottingham.
The grid appears to be holding up for now; but it is impossible to guess for how much longer.
Suggested priorities: The gathering of clean water once the grid potentially goes offline. Also, the electricity free preservation of perishables.
The reinforcement of doorways.
Attempting to gather information on the outside world.
The collection and organisation of weapons, blunt and firearm in case of a breach.
For me to get around to making the damn map more intricate so you can create HQs and medical rooms etc!!

Re: Zombie War - Warnings
Cheese, how many of the PCs are already at the school? I know Drag and Henry aren't, but I haven't heard from Echo, JB, or Elliot. From what I've gathered, Brandon, James, Tim, and Nate are all here.
"Alright, good morning everyone. Gather round, while we discuss our situation.
First, the electricity is only going to last so long, and when it goes, with it will go running water. Nate, I want you to search the school for something we can use to store large amounts of water in. Once you have it, fill it in one of the bathrooms with tap water. If you can find more than one storage unit of some sort, all the better. Also, if you can find anything with wheels to mount it on, that will be good. You might check the shop for those little rollers mechanics use to work on the underbellies of cars.
Next, we need to get an assessment of what kind of weapons we have. James, I want you to search the school for weapons. Since this is a technically a 'weapon-free' zone, you'll probably not find too many purpose-built weapons, so grab anything that might make a good weapon too. Gather them up in that little hallway connecting the auditorium and the shop.
Third, Tim, I need you to take stock of our food. Get an idea of what we've got, and how much of it is perishable. After you've taken stock of the cafeteria, look around for food and take it to the cafeteria.
I'm going to reinforce the windows and then look into the doors.
Also, remember to eat perishable food while the power lasts. We need to store up our nonperishables for later."

Re: Zombie War - Warnings
At the moment it is the four you listed and Echo, who I think has posted once or twice. As for Elliot, that is me, and because so many people joined after all, I wasn't necessary and no longer exist.
By the way, I've been counting frozen foods as non-perishable. But when and if the power goes out that will change over and only tinned goods and dehydrated meals (of which there are few) will count as non-perishable.

Re: Zombie War - Warnings
Tim finds 3 days of canned food. 10 days of frozen food. And 4 days worth of perishables. Searching elsewhere the only decent sized cache you find is from the vending machines, that can be supplemented into normal diet to add an extra two days.
Total food: 19 days.
Lax, you can also unscrew currently in use and get an extra 11. You also find very basic first aid supplies such as bandages and disinfectant. An aluminium baseball bat and a sleeping bag. Oh, and some local ordinance survey maps and maps of New Jersey. (do you have ordinance survey? They're basically very detailed maps that span about 20 miles.)
I really do hope you have a plan for keeping track of all that stuff
I'll add stuff like the guns, food and lawnmower etc when and if you meet up. But as for the xbox you're on your own there.

Re: Zombie War - Warnings
Rot, you're running low on construction points here. So I'd advise you to ask someone else to focus on reinforcement after this.
I'm not really sure what real world application this has; but I'm guessing the closest is there's simply not enough time in the day or something. You know. Rules are rules.

Ok then.*Searches wood and metal shop for any kind of weapons*
Where else will you find better weapons in a school? It should in theory have saws.

Re: Zombie War - Warnings
In the sports equipment room you find a number of weapons including baseball bats, hockey sticks and javelins.
In the metal-shop you can easily make planks with nails through them. There are also long metal poles. Hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches etc.
Tim can also create speartips and axeheads and things of that nature to increase the efficiency of these weapons, but this will take time and construction points.
You also find small blades in several of the students' lockers.

Re: Zombie War - Warnings
Two nights pass and the unthinkable has happened - first the water, then very shortly afterwards the power has gone. Morale has plummeted. After filling up various sinks and tubs around the school you have gathered six days worth of water, which you have kept topped up.
The massive amount of frozen food you had stored is now going to expire very shortly - a matter of three days, though even opening one of the freezers for a moment will reduce this to one.
Defences look solid thanks to the continued efforts of the group. See Stronghold for condition.
The refugees have seemed quite content. The injured one's infection has cleared and his bandage barely needs replacing if at all. At the moment they have no indication that the power is out - this will change at the first toilet break. They are now pursuing Nate's offer of freedom.
Another helicopter flew overhead yesterday, though this occurrence went very similar to last time's.
Suggested Priorities:
Preservation of frozen foods.
Restoration of electricity, if only minimal.
Talks on the releasing of the refugees.
The building of a drainage and filtration system for water.
The improvement of weapons through Tim's metalsmith ability.

Re: Zombie War - Warnings
I realised the defences were in worse condition than I thought
Oh, and everyone look out for morale. It's dipping. Zero is bad. One last bullet bad...
It'll go down slower when you're used to the situation and have more permanent lifelines.

Re: Zombie War - Warnings
It's good to know people are following the Colony for ideas just as much as me.
You find gravel in the outdoor area, wood-chips in the janitor's room and wood-shop. You find a small amount of charcoal in the canteen area.
You could collect sand from the long jump pit outside but I can't think of any reason why it would be indoors or in the garbage. Same with charcoal. If you can give me some reasons why and where it would be, then great. Otherwise, I'm afraid you'll have to make do.
As for the knife, Gold found several while collecting weapons.

Re: Zombie War - Warnings
They might keep bags of sand inside some kind of maintenance area for refilling the long-jump area.
Re: Zombie War - Warnings
Since I was thinking refilling the long jump area was a possibility I'll give you that. You find three large bags.
