oh, the ignorance.

my problem isn't with helping pay the artists, my problem is with helping pay the people leeching off the artists (the record industry)
You are subscribing to a very stereotypic view of record industries.
Yes, the record industries take a lot, but they also take a lot of risk. They are investing a lot of money recording that artist, printing CDs, advertising, and distributing, when that artist could be a dud.

Not to mention that a lot of money goes to the little guys, like recording and sound engineers.

I don't see what the difference is.
If you go into a candy store and see one candy you like and a lot that you don't like nearly as much, you don't steal it all because you have a sugar tooth.

Did you guys ever stop to consider that just maybe he doesn't feel like paying for music or games, so he just pirates it.

I don't steal, and I'm against stealing, but it's still not a difficult concept to figure out.

Why do you need the candy at all? If you don't want to pay for it, don't get it.

You are fooling yourself if you believe everything you pirate you wouldn't have bought anyway. If you use this feeble excuse, i will lose all respect i have ever had for you, for you should know better than to tell such a blatant lie. And if you don't want to have to pay ONE FUCKING DOLLAR to get the song on itunes, then you shouldn't be allowed to listen to it.

lol how would you even know if it was a lie? I have very little need to even pirate it except out of conveniance. I have pandora and the radio on my phone, i have pandora, shallow bay radio, and myspace music on my comp. I don't NEED to pirate to get music. It just makes it easier.

I know it is a lie because i know you.

You probably started to pirate because of convinience, but i bet many of the recent songs you pirated you would have bought anyway. I can understand only pirating to your blackberry, but since you have it on your computer and you've stated you pirated Assasain's Creed, it's obviously gone way further than it should.

Except the larger problems of intellectual property management and stealing.

God, that is so conceited, so self centered, I can't possibly have any less respect for you.
So you have slightly less music to listen to. Whoop de frickin' do.

You are taking the product produced by people who ACTUALLY WORK, and you STEAL IT with a few clicks of the mouse. This music is their LIVELIHOOD, how they earn bread and water, but if you had to buy that music, it wouldn't affect you one bit.

KristallNacht wrote:but since there is a way i can have my cake AND eat it too, why not?
Because that way involves stealing the cake from the baker.

KristallNacht wrote:I don't really have the money to spend on this stuff.
So, since you don't have the money to do something, you'd rather have the industry and the honest consumers bail you out?

Did you vote Obama?

KristallNacht wrote:yeah...cause i would SOOOO buy marilyn manson /facepalm
Then why get it at all?

It costs you twenty-five dollars a ticket to see a movie?

Of course it doesn't cost 25 bucks for a ticket. However, ticket plus popcorn plus drink is well close to $20 already. Add in gas money and that is around $30. Do this twice and it goes to about $50.

I'm not saying that it's right, I just said it saved me around $50.

Felix, here's what you should do: go to a gas station/grocery and buy snacks and drink, then sorta/kinda hide it when you go in.

they don't enforce that rule unless it's blazingly obvious that you're taking food in (at least around here they don't)

Yes, it won't be awkward walking into a movie theater with a purse...

Anyway, I never did until now, when one of my friends told me about this website that allows you to watch entire movies for free.

Anyway, I'm gonna have to say no to the purse.
