Halo 4 E3
Well, thought that I might as well be the one to do this. Not posting in the Halo 4 thread because, well, checking the front page of a new thread for updates is easier than checking page #38 in the other thread.
Will try to localize the images so we're not dependent on Waypoint.

New Weapons:
Forerunner Scattershot: Apparently, you can have the technology to wipe the galaxy clean of life and build self-assembling weapons, but you're still going to be using break-action hand-loaded shotguns.
At least the bullets ricochet.
DESIGNATION: Z-180 Close Combat Rifle/Asymmetric Engagement Mitigator
MANUFACTURER: Unknown
The Z-180 Scattershot is a prominent Forerunner channel weapon that was used for close-range defense toward the end of their war with the Flood. While practically unstoppable up close, the most remarkable attribute of the Scattershot is its schismatic dispersal effect, drowning confined hard-surfaced interiors with brutal, ricocheting beams of energy.
Forerunner Rifle Thingy:
Covenant T-55 Storm Rifle: It's a plasma rifle that takes design cues from the plasma repeater and the carbine. Seems to fire like the turret on a Spectre, only slower. Has an optical scope on top.
Color me disappointed with this one.
DESIGNATION: T-55 Directed Energy Rifle/Advanced
MANUFACTURER: Lodam Armory
The T-55 Storm Rifle is the evolution of the standard Plasma Rifle and served various infantry during the violent Sangheili civil conflicts that followed the Covenant War. The weapon now includes a modular coil set, a high-mounted cooling shroud, and an extended barrel, all contributing to greater overall performance in the field than its predecessor.
Sticky Detonator: Yeah, that's its real name. It's the pistol grenade launcher we saw in the teaser.
From Halo Waypoint:
DESIGNATION: M363 Remote Projectile Detonator
MANUFACTURER: Acheron Security
The M363 RPD is a low-profile single-shot weapon that launches a magnetically latched explosive, which the operator can remotely detonate when at a safe distance. Although previously manufactured in low quantities, this weapon’s size and ease-of-transportability has made it ubiquitous in the years which followed the Covenant War.
Returning Weapons:
M6H
MA5
DMR
BR-85
Sniper Rifle
Rocket Launcher
Spartan Laser
Plasma Pistol
Needler
Energy Sword.
Warthog
Mongoose
Elephant (With balloon tires this time)
Falcon
Pelican
[img][/img]
Hell if I know what this thing is.
Ghost
Banshee
[img][/img]
Phantom
Perks:
Because, really, that's what they are.
Armor Abilities:
Hardlight Shield
Forerunner tech. Think of a CoD riot shield, or that Jackal Shield we've been wanting to pick up since Halo 1.
Hologram
It is what it is, but not what it looks like.
Thrusters
How would the Nazis have given the Evade armor ability to their troops? Pretty much like this.
Promethean Vision
I see you. And you. And you. And you over there. Quit picking your nose.
Forerunner technology that's integrated into a suit of MJOLNIR. It can sense enemies through walls, highlights friend or foe, but doesn't give a special outline to spawn-campers.
Tactical Packages
Another sort of perk you spawn with. Essentially, it seems like you get one armor ability, one tactical package, and one support upgrade.
Shield Package: When your shields go down, they recharge faster. Not sure if it's a shorter delay before recharging, if they fill up to full strength faster, or both. Judging from the description on Waypoint, it's the latter.
Firepower Package: You spawn with two 'primary' weapons. I guess this means that you can spawn with a BR and an AR, rather than a BR and a plasma pistol.
Support Upgrades
Ammo Upgrade: Ever want to spawn with more ammo for your weapon? Me neither. But it's an option now. Might be a good choice for a shotgun or something.
Sensor Upgrade: Your sensors are now more sensitive and have longer range. I guess they can pick up stationary targets now, but I don't know for sure. Judging from the fluff on Waypoint, it's a restricted upgrade because it tends to fiddle with communication equipment or something. Doubt that'll carry over into gameplay.
Awareness Upgrade: There was this one time when I first played Halo PC. I was a joke. I was an easy kill. But there was this one time when I went on top of the bunker on Blood Gulch, came up behind him as he was zoomed in on a sniper rifle... And realized that I couldn't remember what button 'melee' was.
So I leaned over to him, asked him which button it was, and he replied "F key".
"Ok. Thanks." THWACK!
With this upgrade, he would have had radar visible while scoped in, and the above wouldn't have happened.
Will try to localize the images so we're not dependent on Waypoint.

Re: Halo 4 E3
Well the video of Halo4 seems to show a decent amount of things.
The new enemies running around are not organic and that sphere thing was able to hit warp speed from a still position, so i'm thinking either Forerunner or Precursor tech.
The ship (I don't remember the name of it because it doesn't really matter in the end) gets teleported to this new world for reasons unbeknownst to them by forces unknown.
I'm saying that the voice at the end that says "I've dreamt of this Reclaimer" teleported the ship to the planet to get some humans to gain access to some Forerunner tech since apparently we got the juices to do that shit.
Meaning this "ancient reawakened enemy(I swear to God I need to make a drinking game out of how many games have an ancient enemy in them, are there not enough present threats to make up?) has no way of accessing Forerunner tech meaning either it's a Forerunner Prisoner that's connection to it's tech was stripped, or it's a Precursor that can't access it.
Also Cortana's not looking so well.

Cortana seems pretty pissed at the end there...

It's just so absolutely beautiful! My eyes are practically melting right now.
Maybe that's going a bit to far, but it sure is pretty.

i like the small touches, like how the elite pushed one of the grunts to hurry up, and how the robot dog things bob and weaved as you fired.

DID THE UNSC MAKE METAL GEAR?!?!?!
Hopefully, it's a joke.
Anyhow, it appears to be a cross between a Metal Gear and a Tachikoma.
Metalkoma?

I always wondered what happened to Bullsquids between Half-Life and Half-Life 2. Looks like Valve sold them to Halo 4.

Same.
Game looks pretty awesome though. 343 is changing it just enough to keep it interesting, but not enough to stray from the original trilogy. I'll probably play it over the Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday.

Re: Halo 4 E3
I wonder if they're trying to bring the cyclops back. Seeing as how this isn't a military ship, maybe it would have been used for construction? Hard to really say since it looks like it has missiles on it so what do I know.

Meh, I'm okay with a little mech use by now. They've already used it in Halo Wars and Halo Legends. Much worse things could happen.

They did use them in Halo Wars and Halo Legends didn't they?
And it sucked, both of them.

Much worse things would be taking a page from Halo Wars and Halo Legends.

Each had a lot of problems, but neither was horrible. And I would hardly consider the mechs among the top problems in either.Gauz wrote:They did use them in Halo Wars and Halo Legends didn't they?

There is nothing wrong with the cyclops, just the way Halo Wars used it.

Re: Halo 4 E3
The first MJOLNIR prototypes were basically mechs. The only reason the UNSC didn't use them was because they didn't have an efficient power source. After Trevelyan, they would undoubtedly have solved that problem.
So yeah, mechs make sense.
Why would they have mechs on a peace-keeping vessel, though?
