Re: Halo: Reach
Hope the rocket hogs were fake. If the normal Warthog isn't balanced in Halo 3 then how unbalanced will rocket warthogs be. If it is real, Bungie bit off more than they can chew.
And Blood Gulch looked to big to beginning with, and then at the end it looks super retarded big. I bet RT found a way off the map or something so they got into the part of the map you aren't supposed to go, well hopefully.

Re: Halo: Reach
Well, the Rocket Hog in the PC version of the first Halo (the only one it made an appearance in) was the least useful vehicle available, mainly because it shot Rocket launcher rockets, at really slow speeds. Also, the rockets went in any direction except your target.
I'm sure, by the looks of it, the rockets are weaker, and I don't think they'll let you shoot all six at one time.
Also, they fixed the unbalanced warthog problem by giving the gun a spin up time and overheat, and I think it's less accurate, but I can't remember.
It almost looks as though you will be able to increase and decrease the size of the map in forge mode. That Forerunner wall is sort of strangely placed on the map, and its not really solid or detailed, and if you'll notice, the dirt/vehicle trail goes right up to it.

Re: Halo: Reach
The warthog in Halo 3 was perfectly balanced, as was everything in matchmaking. If you remember back to Halo CE for the PC (for those of you who have played it) the rocket hog was not far more powerful than the regular. Variables such as the speed of the rocket, rate of fire, and splash damage radius can all be easily adjusted to make the vehicle balanced. If featured in matchmaking, it will offer some nice variety in the battles. If it is intentionally overpowered, it will be left out of matchmaking like the scorpion and gauss.YouCurse wrote:Hope the rocket hogs were fake. Also, they can never make a map too big. The cliffs of Bloodgulch (to clarify, the extra space is on the cliffs. It is out of bounds of the standard playing field and cannot be accessed by any means other than forge) offer a ton of options for creative map makers and reminds me a lot of the second level of the original game.
Re: Halo: Reach
Also have to remember there's an overheat on Hogs weapons now, so they're would probably be a significant cooldown if it was that powerful. The way it's angled I'd say it was more of an Anti air vehicle.
As for the size of the map, bigger is better. It favours different tactics and play styles, some could use vehicles, some could use the teleporters, some could just sneak round the edges of the map. Forge +Blood Gultch= awesome opportunites. You could even have several plains like sandbox did.

Re: Halo: Reach
Look at invasion on Boneyard
It was never really a problem due to respawn locations, the ability to spawn on teammates, vehciles and armour abilities
I'm sure it'll be fine.

Invasion on Blood Gultch would be cool if they incorporated it to play that style.Vigil wrote:Look at invasion on Boneyard

Agreed. Halo 3 has an amazing replay value... people continued to play it heavily three years after it came out. By the looks of Halo: Reach, though, our grandkids will be playing this game.

Halo 3 has this way of calling you back, even if you just played the shittiest game of all time. Have you noticed it's been getting laggier over the last few months?

Re: Halo: Reach
That new RT video reminded me, what are peoples' RT account names?
Sure I'm guessing 98% of us are inactive or not registered, but I'm tired of having zero everything on that site!
Feel free to ignore this and return to Reaching. I'm TerrorPeanut.

Oh ho ho, Rocket Hog looks pretty cool.
I'm guessing that it willl lock-on to aircraft just the rocket launcher locked-on in Halo 2. Possibly...

It has the same crosshair the missle pod had.
So I expect it fires like that.

Guys, just found something. Rewatch Carnage Carnivale, and you can see the inside of a Covenant ship. Possibly the corvette from Long Night of Solace?
