Israel and South Korea

Oh so true. So far, The U.S. have been talking to China, and they both agree that a war between the Koreas would be undesirable.

in the worlds eyes South Korea's the victum, but it looks like China doesn't want this to heat up.

China also cant afford a war with the United States, would kill there economy.

I'm curious as to how far this can go. China has been using NK as a bargaining chip, but NK is starting to reach the point where they are more of a liability than an asset.

china is kinda stubborn, but they aren't stupid. I don't think they will back the N. Koreans if the shit hits the fan.

They've been distancing themselves from them for a few months now, especially as there getting a lot more eratic.

Besides, China is become a lot more western and open than it was 20 years ago, and most of their trade goes to the U.S.

They wouldn't turn on you without good provokation, and I don't think North Korea is it.

I would hope so. But if war were to break out, who would NK ally with anyway? They really have no allies so I doubt such a war would last very long.

NK could only go to China.

South Korea is protected by the U.S. and the UN.

It would be a pretty one-sided war once the U.N. moblised, but by that time, Seoul would be in ruins and North Korean solidiers would have seized a lot of ground, they have 1 million in the armed forces.

Any fighting would be very very bloody.

China is freaking scary right now. They can get their whole population rallied up for the war. Unlike us, for we have a bunch of hippie-faggot-anti-war-pieces-o-shit living in our country.

war with china would be mutually destructive for both sides... they have more troops, but their weaponry was outdated at the onset of the Cold War... but more importantly... our economies are tied to eachother... both countries would go bankrupt without eachother

as for Israel, there the only one ive seen calling for war in this matter (Which is Israels answer to everything)

like I said, 24 hours after North Korea invades, the entire III MEF would be on their doorstep.

Exactly.

I can't even see China risking a proxy war in this case. Trade is their economy right now, and the West is a big buyer, if not composed of the biggest.

Here's how I see it happening:

Scenario 1: NK pushes a little more, China doesn't back them up, maybe moves even further away, and NK decides to back down.

Scenario 2: NK pushes a little more, and despite China not backing them up, keep pushing until they think they've achieved something. From here:
Scen. 2a: South Korea asks the U.S. or U.N. for aid in a retaliatory war.
Scen. 2b: South Korea goes ahead with the war anyway, knowing that even without the U.S. Military, they can still call for the help of Blizzard entertainment, and the millions of Starcraft players around the world, and overrun North Korea within two weeks and four days.

You Obviously haven't played Starcraft I's first holdout mission. South Korea only needs to hold out for 30 minutes before we send dropships to help them

I'm pretty sure South Korea can defend itself.
A nation thats been at war for 60 years usually know how to fight.

And a country that's been at war for 60 years also knows how to curbstomp the border defenses.

Make an agreement with China. We will not destroy North Korea so long as you do not help them in this matter. China doesn't even really care for North Korea anyway.

If North Korea were to go to war with South Korea, I don't thunk China would want to get involved either way, as it would jeopodise their interests.

They'll probably try not to get involved at all.

I mean, why would they spend the money, lives, and time fighting a pointless war when they could be making more just selling guns, shirts, and tupperware?
