Has the Sabre been used in other games or fiction before? Cause to me it's new. So I was going to say how can you tell? But...

From what we've seen I mean. The only possible reason would be because they're "testing" it.

Well that seems to make sence. They gotta test it somehow right? And what better way then the surpise attack on the facility.

Either way, I think this might one of those "wait and see in the game" kinda things. Perhaps they'll explain something.

IDK, I just want to play it. I burnt on Halo 3 what with the tease of the Beta and all the new shit that's going down in Reach.

That's me though.

FireFight! Yes! And customizible FireFight no less, sweet.

Also, Ringleader made me realize something. If you can use Forge in FF, imagine, the combination of Forge with FF? Whoa! Can you imagine? Awesome.

Customizable you say? Most excellent.

Oh, and the video was blocked, something about Comcast Entertainment.

Just thought I'd let you all know, there a life size statue of the Reach Spartans, and Emil definitely scratched in the skull. The one-way paint theory can go fuck itself. I took pics.

I really hope they did something with Firefight other than just add matchmaking. It was cool in ODST, but it really needed to let you unlock new things with the points you earned (like in Nazi Zombies... but maybe not to such an extreme).

Maybe cause it's a statue? Like it even matters anymore at this point. This complaint can go fuck itself. Especially after what we've seen and played.

The fact that it was a statue and thus I could see that they were physical scratches in the helmet does not void the point. And just because some of multiplayer looks decent doesn't mean I'm going to turn a blind eye as Bungie gives us hardcore story-driven fans the finger. Multiplayer can go fuck itself, because at the end of the day, FPS on console has and always will be subpar. I play console shooters for the singleplayer.

There is absolutely no explanation for this helmet Rot?

That's what I don't get. The year is 2552 and with all your imagination and vastness of the Halo Universe there is absolutely and positively no explanation for this?

At all? Really? Nothing?

That's just the point, Rock. With all my imagination and knowledge of the Haloverse, there is NO explanation for why a Spartan would scratch the fuck out of his helmet or how he would see through it, having done so. The very tenents of basic physics dictate that a scratch made with a crude cutting tool like a kukri cannot magically be one-way seethrough. Period. Full stop.

Whatever, none of this changes anything about Halo as a franchise or the game itslef to me and I think others.

I understand exactly where your coming from Rot. I really do, but my personality just doesn't let these kind of things bug me. Now yes, if it was something majorly wrong and all that, then it'd be a diiferent story. But like I said, my being just doesn't see this as a threat on the meter. That's all.

It does change the fact that Bungie has basically said
"We don't care about our real fans, so much as we care about pleasing a different group of people for $$$"

Sure it looks good, but it's not practical and some people find it silly.
Other people find "badass" things and super mega explosion action to be cool.
And to quote yahtzee "...and some people also find fat people sexy..."

I think if you into this blasting it at every turn, It's doomed to failure beofre you even pick the controller.

Look I understand where your coming from, as to effectively blind yourself with a stupid helmet is a an annoyance, but it isn't a game breaker. There are levels of silly things I can put up with an overlook. Emile is one of them.

As for the Sabre, I honestly don't see what the huge fuss is about.

It looks like a Pre-Longsword/shortsword fighter, or a repurposed escape craft. Hence why it has the boosters due to either A) Pre Longsword tech B) an escape craft typically uses booster, and they might have added them on later for extra kick. As for the Shields, it's Reach, one of the homes of military research and development. Hell I could even outstretch my thoughts and say it was a prototype designed to allow the Spartans to board a Covenant ship for the mission they were being recalled for.

Banshee's have been doing barrel rolls for over a decade. It's nothing that soul destroying.

You don't know anything about this ship, perhaps its some new kind of sabre that they are testing. Heavy enough that requires boosters. But still light enough that it can perform in space. Perhaps even they're a new kind of boosters that help it perform such tasks in space. Then again, I'm not a freakin' space craft wizz so I have no idea. But you really think there is absoululy no explation for there being rockets a space fighter? Really? There's nothing at all?

"Hey we need to stop this fighter drop!"

"But if we take these longswords we'll get ripped to shreds!"

"Wait, in this facility we've been working on a fighter prototype using the shield based tech used in your armor. With that you'll have a chance. The only thing though this version is quite bulky and you'll need rocket boosters to get in the air."

"Lets do it."
