PS:Damm my luck. My serial key has been posted online, so I cant play multiplayer now. and 1)I dont have the money to just re-buy it.2)I dont trust torrent downloads

Edit:apparently I can play online if no one else is using my serial key.

I just played a 2+1/2 hour match against someone who has never played online before, who I challenged on dA.

THey were really slow to start, adn I regret not hitting htem then because I was at tier two and had access to sentinels and hellhounds, and they were still at tier one. I could have wiped them off the map at that point.

Instead I waited, and since they were playing eldar, they built a web of webway gates. They attacked, I repelled and counter attacked, destroying their main base


what I didn't know is that they had built another base elsewhere and had another army attacking mine, but I had like 60 turrets built(I turtled for a long time untill they attacked)


To keep it short, over the course of the 2 and a half hours, I lost over 5000 units, gathered 80,000+ of both resrouces and switched sides of the map three times. We were at a stalemate for most of it, untill the last switch of sides. My main base was nearly destroyed, and where they started attacking they were rebuilding their base(I had destroyed the others)

I took in a baneblade, 2 leman russ, a few sentinels and some guardsmen to destroy it. After that I pulled back. It basically left them with a small army(with an Avatar and two fireprisms, and then their elite infantry to boot) sitting around an HQ

I got rid of the sentinels and built 2 basalisks and rebuilt my army
I used earthshakers and then just charged with everything I had, and won.

I swear, they were slow to start, but they got on the move they were the best damn Eldar player I have seen(sorry yam :[ )

The annoying ass turret spamming whore I played (he was eldar) was worse because he moved faster than we could as a team...

Most eldar can do that
But could he actually build a force to fight everything you had at the same time as he moved across the map?

Oh yes he had alot of reapers, spammed the shit out of the wratih lords and falcon grav tanks and an avatar. So while he ws expanding he was pushing me back with his army and turrets.

Played my first online match today, nearly got SM raped at the beginning(I was guard, ally was Necrons, ememies were SM and Chaos) it was quick start resources so I was attacked by 7 squads of SM before I know what's going on, luckily our opponents wither were extremely stupid or just bad tactitions because they kept spamming tactical squads and dreadnoughts(the SM player did anyways)My ally gradually wore down the Chaos guy while I swarmed the SM guy, it was a quick and chaotic match.

Yeah I agree, I was playing a match with QS set and I was Orks, allies: Chaos, Necrons, Enemies: SMx2, Guard

pretty much they choked every fricken thing on the map and the guard just bombed the hell outa anything that got close. After 4 tedious hours of fighting them and slowly pushing one little spot back we managed to kill off one of the SM's and all of his turrets disappeared leading to our win. They did not build a single unit aside from artillery and scouts. THAT WAS IT, and they almost beat us a couple of times.

I almost forgot about the turret whoring...But I guess its easier to counter a small rush in QS as in standard if they get you at the right time its hard to do much to help yourself.

- Achieveing tier 2 in about 5 minutes with IG -
Since the Imperial Guard's strength is with vehicles, simply getting to tier two can be a game changer. Being able to pump out the specialty vehicles(Sentinel, Hellhounds) and Artillery while others are working on their first vehicles and tier one infantry gives you a MAJOR advantage.

Use this advantage to take and hold ground immediately. Do not over extend yourself however, as the enemy should quickly catch on, and if you get caught up in the tug of war, catch up.

- Getting to tier 3 -
If have Relic and Mechanized command, upgrade HQ ASAP
Research Mechanized Warfare at Mechanized Command ASAP
Build Mars Pattern Control center ASAP

I had Ogryn, Kasrkin, Basalisks using Earthshaker rounds and hellhounds attaking one of their squads

IG get raped by necrons. Not enough strong units.

Necrons are the best, imo; no desperate land grabbing, a nice lord unit, and the ability to jump to buildings mean you can go all out on attack; I never usr anything but the Lord and the fleshy ones; and a wraith to find their base - simple!

I hate Necrons. They go against the fluff, they arent interesting, and they cheat.e
