And here I thought I would like the guy a bit more after he got into office... guess I was wrong. Maybe you've heard of the recent news, Obama canceled the trial of the (Muslim, Al Qaeda) terrorist who bombed the USS Cole and killed seventeen men. The terrorist will get off scotch free, he just has to finish his jail sentence. What kills me is that not only did Obama cancel this case, but he went out of his way to find this case and cancel it, and of all times the day before the trial (after EIGHT YEARS!), and even before talking to the families. There has to be some sort of a connection here. Not to mention all the people he's appointed that have been busted.

The ONLY reason he got elected was for being black, if he wasn't he wouldn't have gotten close. Dud, less than 14 percent of the United States population is black, and most of them probably were not motivated/old enough to vote. I think it's quite clear that he didn't win "just because he was black."

Maybe they want a president who is a good speaker, and will improve the image of the United States.

I'm not basing any of my arguments on racism or prejudice, only the simple fact that the public saw electing a black man as a symbol of change, and this want for change has obviously overstepped their intelligence. I strongly doubt Obama can keep most of the promises he made, not because he's black, but because he's over estimating his abilities. The man is far too inexperienced, and I have yet to see proof of both his commitment to his promises and their results.

Well, we know he isn't fulfilling all of his promises. I mean, the guy pretty much promised something like 80 billion more in government spending, lower taxes, and a lower deficit. So if government spending right now is running up the deficit, and lowering taxes, in this case, will lower the revenue, then how can he increase spending and lower the deficit? Most likely, he's going to spike the deficit, and no one is going to care, because the media loves the guy. Bush spikes the deficit, media has a field day. Obama spikes the deficit, media doesn't even care.

But yes, I agree that Obama was likely elected because he's black. That is not to say that he was elected by blacks, but because he is a minority and between getting all the minority votes and getting all the people who pity minorities, as if its a bad thing to be a minority, votes as well, not to mention a free ride from the media or the outrageous promises he made, he had a lot of votes.
