IN: Industry and Magic - Signups
It has been developed by Tyler and I and we will also be the Game Masters. This IN will, technologically, be taking place prior to and during the Industrial Revolution and have an added flair of magic, making it much like a Gaslamp or Steampunk setting. The game will operate on a week long cycle; Gone are the days where everyone can obsessively watch the game every single day. See the spoiler section if you are wondering about some newer things we're trying to incorporate in this iteration of IN, and some more setting info.

MECHANICS:
-Week long 'cycle'
-Each player controls a city state.
-The player may build outlying settlements and forts to claim area, defend it, and gather resources for the home city.
-There are seven resources: Food, Fuel(Coal and Oil), Lumber, Mana Crystals, Metal, Precious Metal, and Stone.
-Six 'Holdings' are present in the game, each representing a large set of differing organizations, each playing a vital role within your city.
-The Enviroment is dangerous with harmful or even deadly terrain made worse by a host of fierce creatures, both on land, at sea, and air.
-Espionage and covert actions have a greater focus, as well as economics and diplomacy, compared to previous iterations of IN. All have been revamped.
-A large array of NPC's are present, including ones based solely on holdings or services with no territorial presence in the game. This includes four large off-screen empires who seek to control the on-screen game world.
-Building, Unit, and Tech customization remains a major part of the game.
-Each player will create their own leader as well as a host of other PC's who will fill vital roles both within and outside of the city.
-Magic is a powerful asset off of the battlefield, with realm spells capable of boosting your own city's happiness or production(just a couple of possibilities) as well as causing harm to an enemy city... the capabilities don't end with cities however. As always, magic is customizable and realm spells may be created.
SETTING:
An archipelago, including both tropical and arctic regions. In the past couple of centuries the major empires colonized the islands to serve as both bases for naval fleets and to provide resources to the controlling empires. Recently the archipelago has lost contact with the empires due to raging storms fueled by magical energy which will not likely subside for several decades.
(Note: Tyler did most of the write-faggotry, I did most of the mechanic-faggotry, so I can't really give a detail explanation of the setting. Expect one on the site when we have it finished.)

We might appoint a player 'moderator' every few cycles to introduce a new world event they have in mind, so the player would become a sort of story teller in the game for a bit. The GM's would have oversight during this, of course.
This might not happen either, but it's an idea we were thinking of trying.
