best Anime EVAR!!!!

I got tired of it when I realized that like 94% of it's humor comes from Japanese word play and puns which have to be explained to me every time in a long subtitled translators note.

That's not entirely true. I would that more like 44% of the humor comes from that. A lot of the humor comes from the characters' personalities and interactions. For example, the Yukari-mobile doesn't rely on any cultural references.

Those moments aren't nearly as common as the worded jokes though. THe funniest parts that you remember are the Yukari-mobile, the Pan waking scene, and the Knife scene because they were funny and you got them immediately. You forget that every episode that based them in the classroom or had them in the dream sequences (which is a vast majority of all the episodes) relied almost entirely on word play.

love attack on titan. I get pumped for every episode that comes out.

I watched all of them, got hyped, read through the manga and now I can't watch the show till it catches up.....


Normally it wouldn't be a problem cause they differ somehow but this show follows the manga to the fucking panel.

Like no joke I tried watching the episode after reading the chapters and it's literally the same angle and words as a panel in the manga.

I know, I mean some dialogue is lost here and there but it pretty much is on point and I like that because the action is so spectacular that none of it is lost in the manga or anime.

Yea SnK is great, I'm happy that gg is subbing again.

Thought I posted this awhile ago, but I am a HUGE One Piece fan. I do enjoy the dub more (just a personal thing) and with funimation doing the dub, it has become my favorite anime to date. It is funny, it has tear jerking moments and has awesome action and fighting scenes. I love it, but I hate that it has so much filler. But it's an on-going one, so it's to be expected.

But a manga I recently got in to is KissXSis. It's literally on the line of hentai, but I find it funny and enjoy reading it.

Also, Space Dandy is really funny. Anyone else seen it?

Toradora! is one I watched recently that is amazing. I'm watching Bakemonogatori, Kill la Kill, Golden Time, Nagi no Asukara, and some others right now.

So while I've been away, I've delved a lot more into the anime hole, and I thought I'd update my thoughts now I'm a little more cultured.

Gurren Lagaan is definitely my favourite at the moment, as nothing compares to how crazy and over the top that series ends up at.

SnK is probably next as that series was pretty rad too.

Hellsing Ultimate was so delightfully dark and Alucard's give no fuck attitude was pretty refreshing.

The new upstart is Jojo's Bizzare Adventure, which I've got through Phantom blood and Battle tendency, and just started on Stardust Crusaders. It's manly men doing manly poses while being manly. It's a great mix of serious action and light-hearted stupidity.

All that shit is great, though I got tired of Attack on Titan rather quick once I realized they don't have the balls to kill fan favorites. And they don't know how to pace for shit.

Gurren Lagann is still #1, and JoJo is just fucking great. Especially the first OP.

Bloody stream grew on me as Battle Tendency went on, but when they pulled out the first OP at the climax of the final fight, I completely lost my shit.

I like that AOT things are always fucked and continue to get increasing fucked (I read ahead too!) but after Trost, things did stagnate for a while, until the female titan storyline picked up. The complaint about who they kill is valid, as it's still mainly background characters, while the big 4-5 are protected big time. They're at least doing something with the other minor guys now, instead of being there to emote at the events taking place, so it's a start at least.
