Cake is more versatile than pie, you don't see that many creative pies.

Besides, they make shows about cake, it's that good.

Of course. Good looking food is more appealing than unexciting looking food. The aesthetic of Pie is uninspiring and limiting. Its style is incredibly reserved, almost as if it is restraining itself from true physical expression. What does it matter if it looks good, but tastes not as good. If you get what I mean.

Pie just has an all around better taste than cake. I love both Pie and cake, but the clear winner by taste (as it should be) is pie.

Pie has a very traditional look, especially the overlapping crust. It doesn't really mix up it's look, but it does look good.

Also, you can change up flavours in pie a lot more than in cake.

Who would want to eat a meat pie? Who would want mean in their desert anyway? Thats just disgusting.

Cake > Pie

Cake looks better, cake tastes better, cake is used in all types of celebrations, and most of all, I like cake better than pie. The only pie I like is cheesecake. I like all types of cake.

Pie > Cake for SOOOO many reasons....

Pie has many different flavors for one, its easier to make, its cheaper, tastes real good.

What about things that are pie? In a sense, cheesecake could be considered a type of pie. Pizza is a type of pie. Thats not even bringing up other types of pie's.

It's a matter of opinion really, but it is basically fact that cake is more versatile, visually appealing, and has a variety of flavors and tastes that can be put in it.

Meat Pie doesn't sound appealing, nor does meat cake.

Cake also is and can be larger than pie, therefore serving more people easily. Oh and, cupcakes.

Also, i'm assuming you've never seen the movie waitress (i'd have to take your man card), but my mom was watching it while i was on the computer, and after than i can definitely say pie is much more versatile than cake.

You just bake more pies. Now you can serve everyone, you spent less, and if someone doesn't like one of the flavors you chose, there are other options.
