Is it a good buy for $1,000?
Gaming Computer
Well, I found a laptop computer that I think I like at Best Buy, but I'd like some opinions. $1,000 is my maximum, so please don't say it's crap and then recommend a $2,000 laptop.
ASUS: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P7450 Laptop
I intend to get an external battery to increase battery life when on the move. I also intend to get an external mouse for gaming.

Re: Gaming Computer
ASUS makes the best laptops for gaming....
however
if you want to do gaming... DON"T BUY A LAPTOP!

If you can only spend up $1000 then I would say that it is worth it.

Re: Gaming Computer
It's pretty good, only problem is that since it is a laptop, you can't really upgrade it once you've bought it.

Also that 260m wont be nearly as good as a normal one, but its still a good laptop.

Re: Gaming Computer
Price isn't too bad... but yeah, I think the best way to go is to get an even better gaming desktop, and an inexpensive netbook for about the same price.

Re: Gaming Computer
I have the GT130M in my lappy, and it suits me fine - CoH runs at a good fps.
My advice is though, to buy yourself a cheap little netbook for on the move and a big fuck off gaming rig for home - you'll get a much better deal, with a much brighter future.

Re: Gaming Computer
That's why you attach one to it, noc. It's easy enough, just take the mouse, and plug it into the usb port.

^^^This. And if you are going for a mouse for gaming, look into the Logitech MX518 gaming mouse. Very good product.
