I GOT STARCRAFT!

Select a group of units, then press and hold Ctrl and then press a number while still holding the Ctrl key. After that, all you have to do is hit the number assigned to that group to select them, or double tap it to focus the camera on them (not sure if the double tap works in starcraft, but it works in most other rts games)

Yeah I figured out what I was doing wrong.

I played today to find to my astonishment that i was no longer a massive noob

I pirated it a few days ago because nothing sells it around me... -.-

Don't worry, pirated copies don't get battle.net.
So you'll have to buy it anyway. I'd recommend Battle Chest.

I got my Battle Chest off of Amazon. Well the Canadian site anyway...

Mine pirated copy works online

I found a site with a cd key generator that gives cd keys that work online, but they can't chat outside of a game.

SC1 does look like shit, but for 20$ it costs to get the Battle Chest it's worth it. IMO it is BY FAR the best RTS ever made, although it takes a fucking long time to get any good at it.

I've been playing off and on for 5 years and still have trouble against average battle.net players.
