The trailer was strange, I mean.... the Ultranationalists invading America? Much less the fucking capital, I don't think it would happen. He would need some major forces, which I don't think they even originally had after CoD4. I don't think even Makarov and the South Americans combined can pull that off, however it was dramatic.

I................. didn't like the trailer, or only thought it was ok. To say it reminded me too much of Fallout (which it so did) would be dumb - so my reason will be that they spoilered the main shocking event. Also, I can't really see the story being too realistic any more.

At any rate - I'm still boycotting until it costs the same as all the other games. ODST will stay me until then. Still haven't played the damn thing...

You fail to see the point of the boycott.

If Activison's little price experiment is a success, it will set a precident and instead of games dropping in price, we might find that in a few years time, all the big titles will be that more expensive, which is deplorable in the current economic climate.

So I say fuck Activison for being greedy bastards. They have Guitar Hero 5, DJ Hero and this in the same year. It's not like they're short of shitty peripherals they can sell.

I was thinking that yesterday.

If we all pay $150 NZL for the game happily then the other games will follow. This game has no valid reason to raise the price, and other games have had valid reasons but still stayed normal retail price, Activition just know people are willing to pay an extra $50 and that they can get away with it.

GTA IV cost over $100 million US which was the most expensive game ever to develop and they sold it for the normal retail price. GTA IV had over 1000 people working on it for over 3 years, and all of which have wages. IW have been working on MW a bit less than 2 years and has around 100 employees which would have cost a shit load less money. Sure MW2 has three parts to it: Singleplayer, Multiplayer & SpecOps, but Bungie did charge 50% extra for Forge & theatre which pretty much equals SpecOps interms of Money/Time/Effort used by the developers. Then again Bungie charge $50 NZL for Firefight.

Infinity Ward are trying to get MW2 the record for the most sold units EVER and with Activition making such a price it is just not going to happen no matter what.

I still think MW2 will be awesome and I am happy to pay $50 extra for it, but it is the message that I am afraid of, they start raising there price and then their next game and then another game company start to do that aswell and before you know it we will be complaining about games costing $200

ODST is the price of a regular game. MW2 is... what? $90 in the UK?

MW2's price as said before has been raised in the UK and if people still buy it there there is a strong chance the next game they make will have raised prices (from my point of view)

And a game with a kickass new game type, campaign, new maps also for those people who dont have halo 3 anymore this means they get halo 3 matchmaking too.

Well worth 60 bucks

what about for those people that already have halo 3?

bungie's already forced them to buy 2 map packs to play all of matchmaking (even the ones they used to be able to play) and is now forcing them to buy a $60 to get access to other playlists.

thats total bullshit

No i was just dissapointed that Activision was jacking up the price for their video games (in the UK first anyways[then maybe elsewhere next]) =/

you are whining about how a perfectly good game should only be $20 when in reality it has a large campaign a new a very good quality game type and to top it off it has mythic maps, if it has a campaign and multiplayer with 6-7 plus maps (for firefight) its well worth 60 bucks

Now if bungie would have broken up the ODST game into DLC peices it couldve well gone up to $50 maybe $40 plus it wouldve been jewing the people who want to play halo 3's multiplayer out of $60

Now if you want to make a new thread about your problems with ODST you are welcome to
mainly because a MW2 thread is no place to discuss ODST.

MW 2 looks great, and may be the first CoD game I might like since BR1. ODST was waaaaaaaaay overpriced, my friend was gonna get a 360 and ODST, but I told him to wait till ODST's price dropped.

It also had Halo 3 MP and Halo: Reach beta. Not overpriced.

No, i'm saying technically it wasn't over-priced. It had content worth the money... if you don't already own Halo 3, the map packs, and Gears of War/nazi zombies.
