Did anyone else notice...(strong spoilers for GoW2)

That every new character introduced in Gears 2 died?

Carmine: DEAD
Tai: DEAD
Dizzy: MIA(presumed DEAD)
Dom's Wife: DEAD
Skorge: DEAD

I'm probably missing a few, but did anyone else notice this?

The locust queen isnt dead. So your point is invalid.

Speaking of Gears, was it also extremely obvious you guys that when the locust queen said that, "Mankind brought this was upon themselves" that the locust were surviving Aztecs that took some stolen muskets down with them into deep caves and developed from there? It least it was to me, and then all this Aztec shit was everywhere in the locust place, and I was like

That would work, untill you remember that Gears of War takes place on Sera, not Earth. Aztecs in SPAAAAACE!

The storyline was a joke, what was the point of adding all these characters, just if you going to kill them rather quickly.

Tai was the main thing that irrated me about the game, he's given no backstory, no characteristation, other than he's Marcus' friend and then they kill him off in Act 2. Seemed a waste of time to me.

Skorge was nothing. If I can be a boss on the hardest difficulty in one try but button mashing, you need to make a better boss. RAAM was a much better foe by far.

And yeah Vigil, you're right. Gears has not story. I liked the first one, but honestly, I REALLY dislike the second. I found it very plain and boring.

And yeah Vigil, you're right. Gears has not story. I liked the first one, but honestly, I REALLY dislike the second. I found it very plain and boring.

There were flaws in the first one, but it was still enjoyable.

The second was released broken and despressingly poor quality. I only play Horde on it now.

From what I heard he was in the graphic novel as well. Not everybody read those epic, just put some backstory in there, even in the manual for god sake!

Theres 4 Carmines actually. And so far it looks like Carmine is the Kenny of Gears of War. One has to die each game, so I think the 4th might be a hero or something, or even maybe actually die a heroes death.

Meh, I thought he was going to die, espically all the digs by Dom about his helmet and warning him about snipers.

The next Carmine better have a better death than just being mauled by worm phagocytes.

Yah... they didn't really get into Tai's character at all. At least Carmine's death was a little more tragic... a little. Tai was just there, showed up in another cut scene, then committed suicide the next time you saw him.

Indeed. I felt a bit of pity for Carmine, as he was doing better than his brother (He actually made it through the first Act unlike his predecessor)

I felt nothing when Tai pulled the trigger. I just thought it was a waste of a caharacter and time.

Carmine B actually went out of his way to revive me when I would get knocked down
