Halloween!
I assume the lot of you will remain indoors with lights off, eating Cheetos and complaining about those darned kids on my lawn.

Re: Halloween!
For much of my life, I lived in a rural area. You could walk a quarter mile between houses, so trick-or-treating wasn't worth it.
Then, one year, we got three or four houses built on our street, and families moved in. My mother bought a bag of candy in case we did get trick-or-treaters. Long story short, it was a good bag, great mix.
That was about five years ago. (Five years? Time flies)
Now I moved to the city, in an apartment, not far from a real residential zone. Very nice neighborhood, even if the apartments are a little lower-scale.
Each year, I buy a bag of candy and empty it into a bowl, come Halloween. So far, the only kids who knock at my door are selling newspapers.
It's a college town, so there's plenty of costume parties and stuff, but nobody going door to door.
I blame video games and paranoid parents.

Re: Halloween!
My friends and I ran around, went to a few houses, but overall the attitude was very strange. There was no one around.

Re: Halloween!
Over here the kids come around in flatbed trucks anywhere from 8-10 PM to trick or treat, Before then there's barely a single knock on the door. This year everyone in the house decided to opt out of answering the door at 9PM so no candy given this year.
Though some damn kids flattened some new plants we bought a couple of weeks earlier.

Re: Halloween!
I was very disappointed. I didn't shave for four months to ensure I had the maximum amount of facial hair to work with, with the intent of trimming it down into a proper goatee and dressing as Gordon Freeman for Halloween, and then I got sick on Wednesday and didn't get a chance to get it cut.

Pics required. A blond Gordon Freeman is something worth walking a mile to see.Rotaretilbo wrote:I was very disappointed. I got out of class and was so excited to finally give out candy, so I rushed to the store to get some. You know how many of those lil fuckers came by? One, just one.

Re: Halloween!
Don't know about the rest of you, but if someone in my neighborhood was giving kids these letters, I would start handing out candy AND eggs to the fat kids.

I had to work on Halloween and had class, but I got to go to a party a few days before and dressed up as Harry Dresden.

Re: Halloween!
I was many much disappointed that I didn't get to go through with my costume idea. There's always next year, I suppose. Still not sure if I'm going to try and craft HEV armor or if I'm just going to cop out and wear a lab coat and name tag, though.
Re: Halloween!
So, is anyone else that wore a costume gonna post a picture?

Re: Halloween!
I just drew a tangent line on my stomach and wore a bathing suit, calling myself a math sunbather. I also had lab, so I wore the coat to a friends house and called myself a sexy nurse. I'm not very clever. Maybe next year I'll actually do something.

Re: Halloween!
I shoddily created a Twisted Fate costume, and then at my brother's part was a "Jedi" (basically just had a blanket over my shoulders.) I would later reconstruct the latter costume into something decent, but it has since been disassembled.Tylertlat wrote:So, is anyone else that wore a costume gonna post a picture?

Re: Halloween!
Upon my sister's request, we went as our favorite video game characters, Joel and Ellie from The Last Of Us.
I also had a fake Molotov Cocktail on the backpack, but it was hard to see.
