It's weird.

In my lifetime, we've gone from WW2 to space marines to Modern Military Shooters.

I never thought the day would come I'd actually want to play another game set in WW2. I want to do the obligatory Normandy beach landing on the next generation of consoles damn it. We haven't had a good one since COD2.

the sad part is that hardware is actually good enough now that if you had a game that cut back a little on model detail you could have a normandy landing with several hundred AI characters on both sides, instead of 15 germans in a bunker shooting down at 6 AI who can move, and 10 who are in a looped animation of either being injured or peeking around tank-traps and shooting.

I agree that we could use a new World War II shooter, preferably with large Multiplayer. Hell i'm getting tired of fighting the Russians at this point...
