Re: Halo 4
So I played a CTF match on "Wreckage," I believe it was called. Pretty fun and balanced, and the regeneration field finally has some decent use with the semi-open spaces.
Jetpack is the only other useful ability on this one. Maybe Promethean vision too, but only to a certain extent. The others seem somewhat limited, as there's more cover so Hardlight Shield isn't necessary. RF does its own job, and does it better. Active Camo might be decent, actually. Hologram serves its purpose still.

After spending a lot of time playing, I've been saved by the hardlight shield the most.Nocbl2 wrote:So I played a CTF match on "Wreckage," I believe it was called. Pretty fun and balanced, and the regeneration field finally has some decent use with the semi-open spaces.

Re: Halo 4
Eh. I haven't really found a good way to use it yet, and honestly am content with every other ability.

Re: Halo 4
If your enemy is far away, you can use it to get to cover. If you have allies surrounding you, you can hope that it will protect you long enough for them to kill him. Saved my ass plenty of times.Nocbl2 wrote:Eh. I haven't really found a good way to use it yet, and honestly am content with every other ability.
Re: Halo 4
Sooo many instances where Ive been in a long range fight, only to have the other guy bring up that shield and then slink behind a boulder or a wall.

Re: Halo 4
In absence of a more relevant place to put this, I just finished Cryptum by Greg Bear. It was not a traditional Halo novel. That said, it was the best. For anyone who felt there was confusion or lacking in Halo 4's story, please read this. My appreciation for the game has skyrocketted though there is still some confusion on how things go from here. I suspect the other books of the trilogy will satisfy the gap.
Read it.
Also, spoiler.

- Spoiler:
So the precursors unleashed the flood on forunners and humans (and prophets? Were they a sibling species?) as retribution for their uprising. It seems ironic to me that as Truth is attempting to fire the rings and join his gods in death, he refers to the floods appearance on the Ark as his adversaries "final, bitter curse" I doubt there is much behind the quote but it just stuck in my head.
