Halo 4

I actually like Sprint at X.

The default was awkward at first, but it grew on me a lot. Im actually much quicker with this default scheme than i was in halo 3.

Loooololol the Map pack is free right now, download it quickly! Go to halo4 main menu, click on xbox marketplace (there should be a star next to it) and it will be 0 transaction. If it doesnt work, restart your console and try again.

Something tells me this isn't entirely legitimate.

And here lil ol' me thought Id caught microsoft with their pants down. Welp, no worries. Map pack was deleted days ago. None of those 3 are really all that great to play on.

It seems that everytime the first map pack for a Halo games comes out, those first couple of maps aren't all that either. Remember the Noble maps? Me neither because after their playlist got removed and they entered normal map circulation you never saw them again. Anchor 9 and Tempest weren't that fun to play on.

I did like Breakpoint as an invasion map, but the fact I rarely got to play on it made it's addition worthless.

Halo 3 was a little better as all 3 maps (Standoff, Rat's nest and Foundry) got heavily used in all gametypes after they were added, and I like the different avenues of attack. It'll be interesting how 343 handles what map pool each gametype will have post DLC maps added, as that was one of the weakest parts of Reach, and one of the strengths of first 2 packs for Halo 3 (Mythic I and II came out so late they didn't really get used at all.)

Hopefully like halo 3, they eventually make the first map pack free for everyone. Then have the three maps be incorporated into matchmaking.

According to some other halo fan sites the maps are pretty interesting and solid.

Idk if Im just losing my bearings, but Im actually finding that the general Halo 4 community is by far the worst Ive ever experienced. Between some forums that I visit, and the people IN the game itself, I can say that the CoD community is more bareable (sp?) same with the bioware community. Anyone else finding this or am I just losing my shit and/or having bad luck.

Sounds like you never played Warcraft 3 DotA, or LoL, or Dota 2. (Personally, I found Warcraft 3 DotA to have the worst community)

I've heard bad things about the LoL in game.


Mostly that if your a newbie and don't know how to play the game yet(understandable) you will lose the game for your team since it's such a team dependent game and they will all talk shit and insult you.

Dota is 100x worse. LoL at least has matchmaking that matches you with other noobs (though people creating new accounts to play at low levels have been ruining that).

I have a few friends that play LoL and I don't want to enter a game with them because I'm certain they'll flip out.

If you're new to or bad at LoL, you just play against easy bots until you get a feel for the pace of the game. Even my ex-roommate Mark, who is arguably one of the stupidest people in North America, has managed to achieve a level of play in which we don't spend the entire game yelling at him.

The community is pretty bad, though. Not just about being assholes, but just bad in general. Playing with randoms is like grinding off one's face for eternity. DotA2 is a lot worse, though, because it's far less forgiving, twice as hardcore, and apparently lacks a matchmaking system.

It has a matchmaking system, I just notice way larger skill gaps in games way more often in Dota 2 than in LoL.

Ehh WC3 Dota beats both in terms of bad communities if you didn't have the map Dled they'd just kick you or torture the hell out of you if you for some reason stayed.

Of course i believe its tied to the very small teams reliant on everyone being at the same level, and still sometimes the best player gets a shit hand in an AoS simple because that style of game just doesn't forgive mistakes easily.

meanwhile games like Dwarf Fortress for example despite being absurdly difficult are also only Single Player, and DF has one of the better communities around, if you don't know how to do something fifty people will tell you how to do it, and everyone else will tell you how to do it in a funner way.

Ive noticed a similar trend with Paradox Interactive Titles but again they are also hardly competitive experiences.

However, the Thread is about Halo 4, i can't remark about its community because i just turn on party chat and then proceed to enjoy the silence.

Shit I usually have people muted in the first place. Its what people do during the matches itself that irritate the shit out of me. I dont even wanna imagine the levels of trash talking that they might do.
