Re: The Crimson Headquarters
I still do not see the point for escape pods or self-destruct features. Why in the hell would you want to self-destruct an expensive facility? For what reason would you ever do that? Why do we need escape pods? Who/what are you escaping from?

Re: The Crimson Headquarters
In case our enemies overrun our facilities we may destroy it to kill them and prevent them from gaining access to our secrets and files.

that actually makes alot of sense

A steel bulkhead would need to be very thick. It also does not protect the roof.

Re: The Crimson Headquarters
I don't know how much regular glass would cost... but bulletproof glass will cost between 3-15 USD per square inch. It'll be cheaper to just get normal windows.

Re: The Crimson Headquarters
Who cares about money? We're THE CRIMSON FLAME!
Oh... and instead of a self-destruct button, how about a button that deploys auto-turrets (with armor-piercing rounds) every few feet? That way we keep the facility and the enemies still die.

Or how about a bio weapon released through the vents everywhere, cheaper I guess.CivBase wrote:Who cares about money? We're THE CRIMSON FLAME!

Re: The Crimson Headquarters
Meh, there is a room for failure with your idea. A self-destruct feature would be much more efficient.CivBase wrote:Who cares about money? We're THE CRIMSON FLAME!

You can counter this easily, and I think there's too much a risk of the bio-weapon being able to escape the complex, and leaking into the outside world. Which would be badDeath no more wrote:

If we're at the point of pushing self-destruct buttons, I don't think we'd really care anymore.

Re: The Crimson Headquarters
The Grey pieces on the side of the tower were intended to be out-riggers, but if we reenforce the stairway, the Stairway tube itself could be the structural element, leaving the metal-over-reinforced-concrete outriggers free to slide or fold over the windows in case of attack. I think it should be assumed that the lobby would be compromised, so IMO:we'd be best off using a hydrolic 20' wall(which is set into the ground and fail-safed to come upo in case of disturbance[power outage, integrity compromise, ect] with a preasure realease valve situated within the building. It would completely seal off the lobby, but the ground floor would be protected and it would allow fire postions to be set up along the balconey. The long window walls would be plate glass, but tacticall, they're pretty much open without a substantial design change(which would be regretable, but is possible. As for th complound itself, I'm sold on the idea of setting up subsidiary companies, Hotels, retail, ect., and using thei buildings as a living wall to the hear of the compound. And finally, as someone mention biochemical intruder deterents, anyone have any ideas on combining the Intruder sefense and the fire-suppression networks? Spies and Fire both need Oxygen.

Re: The Crimson Headquarters
Cuz a bio-weapon kills everyone. If LP is the only one with an escape pod, I'd like to have a chance at living.Death no more wrote:Or how about a bio weapon released through the vents everywhere, cheaper I guess.CivBase wrote:Who cares about money? We're THE CRIMSON FLAME!

Re: The Crimson Headquarters
He said halo-type, so I don't know if he means the one from PoA or not, but if so, that one needs a pilot civ *nudge nudge*.

Was originally "Better make an War Room" when it should be
"Better make a War Room"
Say the first one out loud and you'll see its not proper grammar.
