Re: Futuristic Weapons
Didn't the show Future Weapons cover the kind of armor used on Humvees, and show that it was effectively IED proof, or something like that?

A laser illuminates a target and then pulses, heating up the air it passes through until it's a plasma (Takes less than a millisecond).
Electricity is then "Dumped" right into the plasma. As it is superconducting, the electricity travels along the line of plasma into the target.

depends. If the electricity makes it through to the electronic systems, those are screwed. If it makes it to the crew, they are most likely screwed. You have to remember that on alot of terrain most of that energy is gonna go from the tank to the ground along the outer armor shell and through the treads(which is very conductive)
if it did though, you might see the treads and wheels all welded together in a couple of spots.

But... with ERA and all... and if you aimed for IR sights...
