Well, not really, but we follow the basic idea of it.
We could blow up the country, but we don't, because there are innocent civilian, well there are heaps of other countries that couldn't care if there are innocent civilians in the area they will blow up, just as long as those innocents belong to the opposing Countries/Force's, then it is fine because they know it will have an impact on the Government.
i agree....
this is why we never got anywhere with fighting these people....
unlike some cultures we have a higher moral code then them
Re: Guerilla Warfare
Human rights has impacted this world so...
How do you get rid of your enemies? Get rid of everything that supports them, there recources, everything. Lacerate the arm that feeds them, and destroy all connection the enemies have to what they need. Include the country as a whole...
Or you can simply destroy the whole population.. If you don't have a enemy, who is there to fight? Or even better, if you don't have a population, who is there to recruit? Total destruction and annihilation works fine...

Iwo Jima is a good example as to why total destruction doesn't work.
They U.S. Navy literally turned the surface into ash, and the Japs just hid in bunkers and tunnels.

The problem is, on what?
To destroy a tunnel, you have to know where the mouth is, and in Afganistan, the mountains have more cavelike structures, and are not as intricately connected.

um you are aware they use thermobaric bombs on afghani tunnels right?
really the bomb can actually burst down through the ground like a bunker buster and then explode out.
besides, we have satallites that can get us a map of the tunnels since they're very basic and not specially designed to not show up.

Re: Guerilla Warfare
Im pretty sure they dont use RADAR, the large wavelength of the signals is not good when compounded with the fact that there are tons of large solid obstacles in the way of the tunnels.PiEman wrote:NT's right, they use radar.
Maybe a different form of EM Detection would work? You need something with the power to go through the surface of the earth, but then bounce off of something underneath and come back for any form of conventional radar to work.

wow. yes please, argue symantecs. Last time I checked x-ray doesn't stop at your skin, so this 'xray' won't stop at the first layer of dirt.

Re: Guerilla Warfare
Im positive its not RADAR like Pie said.
Maybe another from of EM scan/detection, but not RADAR, too large of wavelength.
