I tried playing PR a few months ago, and the gunplay was awful, mostly due to it being on the BF2 engine :/
So far the gunplay in Squad isn't great but it's way better than in PR or ARMA imo.

Re: Iraq
That's one of the emotions.
Gonna be fun, bought a nice laptop that can play all kinds of games and downloaded all the ones I could think of so I should be set.

find a game (that has multiplayer) you like while you are over there and when you get back we will all have a night where we play it

Re: Iraq
I'm on the fence about Stellaris. I mean, sure, I put 45 hours into it in the first week and forgot to sleep like the first two days I had it, but after you get through the initial awe, there's a lot of flaws to deal with, especially pertaining to the AI. I'm told the dev is good about patching their games, so I'm waiting for a few more patches to fix the sector AI and alliance war AI before making another attempt.

Have you tried Distant Worlds: Universe? I only played Stellaris a few hours before refunding it because it seemed to be a worse version of Distant Worlds.

Re: Iraq
Good luck buddy. I went to Kandahar, Afghanistan from Oct 2015 to Feb 2016 and it was quite the experience. Only a 4 month deployment so probably shorter than yours, stay safe.Lord Pheonix wrote:That's one of the emotions.
