Re: Iraq
Elaborate please?
I'd be interested in exactly what you mean by, "I'm going."
If you're serious, there are actually a solid number of Americans fighting for the Peshmerga currently in Iraq. Not sure what reasons you yourself have, but I hope it isn't for vacation.

Re: Iraq
It's a deployment, who the fuck goes there for vacation?
No idea where in it i'm going, just that I am on April 18th.
Good money in going and great experience that will help me get a good job in my field.

Good luck. Stay safe. Remember, most of those ragheads don't even zero their rifles.

Re: Iraq
Somehow I've been so detached from the community that I missed you being in the military...What branch and field are you in?
Re: Iraq
Army intelligence. I work security as my normal job but i've been in the army reserves since 2010. My ETS date was March but then I got selected to be deployed so oh well lol.

That sucks.Lord Pheonix wrote:My ETS date was March

Re: Iraq
I really want to go. I'm stuck in Japan currently and there isn't too much going on in my theater save for a chest puffing contest with the Chinese. I suppose it's weird to most people that I would want to go to Iraq, but I didn't join to sit around in a nice air conditioned shop all day.
Anyways, best of luck to you! As intel it shouldn't be too crazy for you...still, don't let yourself get complacent. Somebody has to keep paying for this damn site to keep going.

Re: Iraq
Same here. I miss the activity we used to have here, but... Eh, we got together for video games, and we don't play the same video games anymore. Maybe I should correct that.

Re: Iraq
Stalker Call of Pripyat, mods for Call of Pripyat and Shadow of Chernobyl, and Metro Last Light. Shadowrun: Dragonfall is supposed to be a great cRPG, the other Shadowrun games are supposed to be decent to good. Dying Light was a lot of fun to run around and kill zombies in, and had a great movement system. Dishonored is fun from what I've played of it. The new Wolfenstein was fun and lasts about ~12 hours.
Xenonauts was a lot of fun, plays a lot more like the old Xcoms than the new ones. I enjoyed it more than Enemy Unknown.
The Chronicles of Riddick games are fun.
MGS5 was really fun, but I didn't really like the story and got bored of it after ~40 hours and didn't finish it.

Re: Iraq
Lucky. I never got to go play in the sandbox.
Hopefully you get a chance to play some soccer with some Haji kids....then again, winning hearts and minds has always come second to just about everything else.
