The trailer does not give me hope, though.

Creative Assembly is leading development, so hopefully it ends up having some more depth to its gameplay this time.

The fact that they have 3 other games in development including 2 full Total War games makes me doubt that this will end up being good though.

Halo Wars 2 = fucking nope. Shouldve left that abomination buried.

The trailer clearly indicates that's it's a continuation of the previous storyline.
The writing is probably being done by 343 Studios.
The game is being developed natively on Xbox One and then ported to Windows 10.
The game is being developed by Creative Assembly, which means a buggy release.
Creative Assembly has very little actual experience will full Real Time Strategy.
Creative Assembly is busy working on two full titles other than this, which means it's their third string.

How hilarious would it be if the old team made it and they kept the same forum moderators and we just showed up going:

I am interested to see if the PC version is any good mechanically (since the story is guaranteed to be trash). I actually really liked the original's controls (for a console RTS)--hopefully these guys can figure it out for PC too.

The problem is that it isn't being developed for PC. It's being ported to PC. It's going to be developed for Xbone, and then we're going to get a shitty port on PC. It's going to be a travesty all the way around.

May be the first time in history that an RTS gets ported to PC.

I'll hold my judgments until an actual gameplay trailer, but meh I don't have an xbox anymore so I doubt I'll get it anyway.

Ive been thoroughly unimpressed with anything halo since halo 3, this game would have to be amazing for me to consider buying it, and even better than amazing for me to actually buy it. the first one was a train wreck, and they are stuck with the things put in there for this one (lore, units, ect.)

hopefully they dont have that same dumbed down base building mechanic that made unit spam the easiest way to win in the game with no strategy at all

For a brief moment I thought "Creative Assembly might do a better job than ES".... but then I stopped dreaming and gave up on the game entirely.

There was a petition to green light this game? Who the hell signed it? Where is this huge group of die-hard Halo Wars players?
