BioShock 2 Empty BioShock 2

Post by Divine Virus Wed Feb 03, 2010 1:27 am

Release Date: Feb 9, 2010

BioShock 2 60842

I figured that if there wasn't a BioShock 2 thread already, nobody wanted one.

But after seeing this trailer, one had to be made. Dear lord this is probably one of the best trailers I've seen for anything.

Seriously, I was not going to buy this day 1 because I was already buying something else, but after seeing this I might have to change my mind.

Launch Trailer

I'm getting this on the day

Bit worried about the multiplayer element, but hopefully the singelplayer is as solid as the original.

Launch trailer. I'd say it's as good as the one like this they did for the original.

The Big Sister is a pure bad ass, I can't wait to play this game.

Don't worry about the MP, it's being developed by a team devoted to the MP. The single player is being developed by the same team who did Bioshock, and they're strictly doing the Single Player.

ringleader99: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/launch-trailer-bioshock-2/61531?type=flv
Anonymous: too much work and school and gf.
ringleader99: yeah
Anonymous: egh bioshock 2 >.>
ringleader99: dont like it?
Anonymous: its not that
Anonymous: i just played bioshock one
Anonymous: and i completed it
Anonymous: and i was like
Anonymous: wow, what an amazing experience that was, im so glad it didnt end open to a sequel because if there was any game that can standthe test of time as a great classic, its bioshock
ringleader99: oh
Anonymous: oh bioshock two was announced FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
ringleader99: its a prequal
Anonymous: no its not?
ringleader99: oh
Anonymous: its set 10 years after the first
ringleader99: I thought you were like the first big daddy
Anonymous: a new leader has taken control.
Anonymous: you are.
Anonymous: jesus at least read about the game before you try and convince me that its better then what i expect Razz
ringleader99: oh
ringleader99: it might be good
Anonymous: i dont care
ringleader99: it sort of had an open ending
Anonymous: could be better then the first
Anonymous: i dont care
ringleader99: I mean, even if you played good or bad
Anonymous: i just hate its existence
Anonymous: i played good
ringleader99: ok?
Anonymous: and i was very satisfied with the ending.
ringleader99: because its a sequal to a classic, it is bad
Anonymous: ...yeah
ringleader99: so hows ME2 treating yah?
Anonymous: ME isnt a classic.
Anonymous: its the first part of a trilogy
ringleader99: yes it is
Anonymous: it ended
Anonymous: as the first part of a trilogy
Anonymous: star wars, ended as the first part of the trilogy
Anonymous: halo ended as the first part of a trilogy
Anonymous: bioshock tied up all loose ends to make sure there was no way a sequel could be put together
Anonymous: but NO
ringleader99: why would halo be considered any more open then bioshock, you blew up the halo and flew home
Anonymous: yes and the chief was like
Anonymous: no
ringleader99: thats a cleaner ending then bioshock
Anonymous: this is only the beginning.
ringleader99: in bioshock
ringleader99: the splicers take over a nuclear sub at the end
ringleader99: if you play bad
Anonymous: yes
Anonymous: that was the shit ending.
ringleader99: thats a pretty darn open ending
Anonymous: it is
Anonymous: does it have anything to do with the sequel? no.
ringleader99: why wouldnt it?
ringleader99: we dont know that for sure
Anonymous: erm... yes we do...
Anonymous: i followed the game since announcement
ringleader99: in sure it will become clear in game, the relations the first game will have with the second
Anonymous: not once was there any indication that the outside world had any knowledge of rapture.
ringleader99: well, in both endings (that I can remember) Jack makes it out of rapture, a long with a bunch of little sisters, or a bunch of splicers, in either case they made it out, not to say the outside world had much to know about it, but saying that there arent going to be any connections between the first and second game is pretty lucrative
ringleader99: all sequals at least reference or have something to do with the previous
Anonymous: i dont care if theres any connections
Anonymous: bioshock was an amazing game
Anonymous: and did NOT need a sequel.
ringleader99: but I thoguth the thing was that it had a clean ending and was classic, therefore it cannot EVER HAVE A SEQUAL, for some reason
ringleader99: but it did have open endings
ringleader99: and thats not to say the story is liniar, I mean, it probably is, thats why a sequal is not a bad thing
Anonymous: you dont understand....
Anonymous: it just doesnt need a sequel
Anonymous: it was the one game i thought would be able to stand out forever as a briliiant game
Anonymous: yet they still made another
ringleader99: well, nothing really needs a sequal, but when one comes out, its not a bad thing
ringleader99: thats like saying, you dont NEED two hands
ringleader99: but two come in handy, you know what I sayin'?
Anonymous: well, what if one arm has two hands coming out of it, its so amazing that you dont need another hand, but you have another when anyway Razz
Anonymous: then your just some 3 handed freak and no one likes you!
Anonymous: not even your mother o.o
ringleader99: uh huh, anyway, BS2 isnt some freak of nature that inhearently is flawed because the first one was brilliant.
ringleader99: What if they make it better?
Anonymous: well the reviews ive read said it isnt as good as the first Razz
ringleader99: but NO NO NO, were in our confort zone
Anonymous: egh
ringleader99: well, the reviews for ME2 said it was better then the first, when in reality, no
ringleader99: especially the ending
ringleader99: which went something like this:
Anonymous: youre so unempathetic, what if some made a sequel to the odyssey? or the define comedy? how retarded would that be!
ringleader99: how is that unempathetic? its not like, the continuation of Jack's life, so it's not at all the same, it would be like, if they made a sequel to the Odyssey, except the only things that are similar from the first are the time its set in and enviroment, and even those are barely reminiscent of the original Odyssey
ringleader99: its not so much a sequel,
ringleader99: as a story set in the same universe
ringleader99: with new stuff to flesh it out
Anonymous: unempathetic because instead of trying to understand what im trying to say, youre trying to impose your own views onto me, which is fine when your argueing about facts, but is NOT ok when your argueing about somoones opinion on something
Anonymous: youve got down syndrone, imma go play ME2.
ringleader99: well, what the hell are the paramaters of a dissagreement to you? me giving up, and instantly subverting to your opinion? how the hell does that make sense to you? if anything, you have trouble understanding things, your afraid of change, and your unwilling to analyze what I am saying, wheras I have adressed all your points. What is your rebuttal for my saying its not so much a sequel as a brand new story set in the same universe? YOU DONT HAVE ONE, and then of course, that must mean I have down syndrome...
ringleader99: 'SO INSTEAD OF AGREEING WITH ME, YOUR RETARDED"
ringleader99: that makes perfect sense, doesnt it
ringleader99: hadnt I adressed all your points?
ringleader99: what makes you think I dont empathize with what your saying?
ringleader99: what?
ringleader99: nothing, thats right, NOTHING...
ringleader99: you brought up halo, I adressed halo, you brought up the Odyssey, I adressed the odyssey. You have adressed less points then I have, so if anytihng, your the dense one here buddy

-Does this make sense to you?

Yes

You were both right, but I wouldn't say Bioshock is so much of a classic it can't have a sequal.

Really, it's not so much of a sequal as a whole new adventure that happens to take place in the same univers. It's not a continuation of the exact events that took place in rapture ten years earlier.

It didn't need a sequel but we got one.

And I'd like to point out System Shock didn't need a sequel, but it did and System Shock 2 is considered a classic.

Let's take the most annoying and tedious part of the game and make it a paid DLC.
