One of my roommates, Steven, was an intelligent, motivated guy when we were in early high school. So much so that I looked up to him in Freshman year. He was easily more intelligent than myself or most anyone else I knew. Today, I have to avoid talking politics with him, because he is so ignorant that his opinions literally offend me. Now, you might be thinking "oh, Rot just thinks Democrats are ignorant because he's a Republican". No, that's not the case. Steven is more Republican than me. He believes that the United States should just flatten anyone who messes with us. He also believes that Iraq was responsible for the 9/11 attacks and that black people are all worthless niggers. In fact, the only point where he strays from the extreme, ignorant right is in his belief that marijuana should be legalized.

I've watched a friend drop 30 IQ points in the wake of two years of chronic marijuana use and three years of intermittent marijuana and spice use. Everyone else I know who uses weed on a semi-consistent basis show similar signs of ignorance and lack of motivation, but Steven is the most personal example, as his starting intelligence was very clearly higher than his ending intelligence. So please don't talk to me about "wasted potential" in regards to the tax income we could gain from legalizing weed.

And there are Hundreds of Stories About Alcohol Abuse doing the same exact thing. Any drug is bad, That's why some are better Legal so you can tax the hell out of it. I Dont smoke or drink but i'm glad the option is there for those who so choose.

The difference being the amount of alcohol it takes to have such effects. A chronic marijuana user is someone who smokes one joint a day. A chronic alcoholic is someone who drinks enough alcohol to get drunk every day. One beer a day an alcoholic does not make. In fact, I'm told one glass of red wine a day will actually decrease the chance of heart disease.
