also I dont think that doubling the nations deficit is really preventing a 2nd great depression as much as delaying it a couple of years.

I thought I remember one of obamas campaign promises the first time around that if the nation was still in the red at the end of his first term he wouldn't run again?.. I guess he forgot he said that

Much like how over here one of the parties said they were going to raise tuition fees and made it a key pledge to get into power, then promptly raised them when they got into office.

Honestly though, every single western country right now is struggling not to go back into recession. Even if the Euro somehow survives all this, nobody is doing that much importing, so all the stuff you produce is just sitting there. China's been just as badly affected as there all saving and their foreign business has all but dried up in some luxury products.

Delaying it for a few years is probably the best the guy can do when the Republicans have made it impossible for him to do anything meaningful for half his term.

i'm not saying the republicans are any better, neither side is palateable any more since both only cater to the extremes of their side. but he did have a supermajority for the first 2 years of his term in both the congress and the senate and they were the ones who initially blocked all of his proposed bills... the first 2 years were also when he spent the majority of his money.... which nobody seems to remember. never mind the fact that democrats controlled both congress and senate for half of Bushes second term, which people also seem to forget. probably because its just easy to blame everything on bush because he looked like a fool.


also, printing trillions of dollars that we owe interest on (aka can never be paid off because there will always be more owed than exists) does delay a financial collapse, but it also devalues currency and CAUSES a financial collapse.


I am voting 3rd party because I don't like either of the candidates this year, neither of them are actually conservative... the neo-conservatives are basically just liberals who are more religious... they spend just as much money... which needs to be cut down

Honestly, I think that everything that picture claims Obama did (besides the donuts) is overstated or an outright lie. Still, thought that it would be funny.

Our politicians are bad too, they just aren't as bad as the ones in the states. Also, good luck. If you're heading to B.C., you won't get much snow, mostly just rain.
