Re: Warhammer 40K: Kasrkin
Seath, this wouldnt happen to be the story that would destroy your faith in your own writing? :suspect:
IF so, I wont read it because I still need to finish my own prologue.

Gold, this did not destroy my faith. In fact, this could probably give you some ideas

Re: Warhammer 40K: Kasrkin
If I was still doing the FF, probably.
With my new world where the most advanced faction has WW2 tech and spaceships? Not likely.

Re: Warhammer 40K: Kasrkin
No offense to Seath but he kinda has "Project ADD" he'll keep the FF/game/topic going for a while and then move on to something new when he's gotten bored of it. Either that or when he thinks he's hit a dead end on it.
Frankly I have some knowledge of the 40K universe, but my dad knows it hands down lol he's got every book they've come out with, even some rare collectable writtings XD were 40k nerds at this house

Re: Warhammer 40K: Kasrkin
I see some serious dead space influence in this....
“Is… is somebody there?!” A voice cried out from the other side of the door. It was certainly male, but badly shaken. “Help me! Help me damn it, I can’t open it! Get the damn door open they’re coming…!” The voice descended into babbling, obviously crying on the other side without even a thought of shame.
That's a actual part in the first dead space game. Same exact lines, just different setting and characters, except for the monsters to a extent.
So far, they had seen another of the creatures in the hallway, but its path had been blocked by debris. Dead space copying here is undeniable.

Death.....There are similarities, but it's NOT plagarism.
So what? HE said creature? What ELSE is he going to say?

Re: Warhammer 40K: Kasrkin
I wasn't saying it was plagiarism, but there is influence in this. The way the creatures are, the part I showed you was undeniable influenced by dead space. Lot's of little things as well, but I guess its okay as long he mixes it up a little.Gold wrote:Death.....There are similarities, but it's NOT plagarism.

I think this was started before dead space was out.
Regardless, there are similar creatures in 40K to begin with

Re: Warhammer 40K: Kasrkin
You know Death, Dead Space isn't the first thing to do these things. In fact Dead Space is probably one of the biggest example's of having multiple influences and elements from other media's of the genre.
So, what I'm trying to say is, there is probably a lot more movies/games/books/media's etc that are influences to this kind of thing rather then simply just Dead Space.

Yeah but what I'm trying to say is that Halo, Dead Space etc were not the first ones to do those things. He may be influenced by those specific ones but those games took infuences from many things and put them together which, to there benefit, made them that more uniqe. But still reconizing where those influences came from.
So basically, He may say for himself that Dead Space, Halo etc infuenced his writing but theres a lot more to thank for that then just those titles.
That's all.
