And Scotland and Wales and Northern Island, as well as the Channel Islands.
Why does everyone forget those?

its should be NO MORE than $30 and available as a standalone download.
why WOULDN'T that be?
the multiplayer has already been made. the engine has already been made
the only difference is newer shorter campaign in place of the halo 3 one and firefight.

What about the map packs? Those aren't free.KristallNacht wrote:Angatar wrote:And why would that be?KristallNacht wrote:I still don't think ODST should be full price.

I'm quite sure the map pack that comes with ODST is also a standalone download. and the ODST doesn't even have ALL of it,i believe.

It has it all, every map for Halo 3, plus the new mythic maps you can't buy on Marketplace - they'll never be on it, Bungie and Microsoft say.

Re: Halo 3: ODST ViDoc : Desperate Measures
Someone has paid for all the downloads, so everyone who buys ODST must, too, otherwise they are getting all the maps free. More than half the price right there.KristallNacht wrote:Angatar wrote:

that doesn't justify ODSTs price tag. since people that bought all the downloads now have to still pay full price for ODST. they can VERY EASILY make the map packs available for purchase for ODST on their own.
fuck bungie and MS. companies need to learn from Valve. no one hates valve. lots of people hate bungie and MS for being sell outs.

Re: Halo 3: ODST ViDoc : Desperate Measures
They're releasing ViDoc 2 sometime next week too, I'll post a thread about it if no one else does when it arises.
Yeah, Valve are great. But Bungie's still good. I don't mind paying a mere £30 for a new Bungie game, and a Halo one at that.

Re: Halo 3: ODST ViDoc : Desperate Measures
:/
No, it's a new game. So it uses the same engine, so what? Does that mean Left 4 Dead is the same as Half Life, since they both use Source?
You're only upset because it doesn't have a competative game mode, and you're used to those being in a Halo game. People will pay full price for Assassins Creed II, and Mass Effect 2, and they're just campaign! But no one minds. It's just because it's Halo, you want it to have everything. Rejoice, we get a survival mode! I don't particularly care for Matchmaking anyway, so I'm happy.

Re: Halo 3: ODST ViDoc : Desperate Measures
The Map Packs are over priced anyway. $16 NZD for three Maps. 1/7 of the full game for 3 maps. Cutting down on an already too high price isn't that big of a deal.Angatar wrote:What about the map packs? Those aren't free.
For $100 NZD (Roughly $60 USD I think) you get 12 Multiplayer Maps, the whole Campaign (Including voice acting, writers, Music etc) Forge, Theatre, the actual gameplay (Things like gameplay design, play testing, developing an engine etc), All the little things that make them (eg: Skulls, Character Customization, ability to take Screenshot and upload them to B.net), and last but not least Advertising (plus a whole bunch of things that I can't be bothered putting in, but you get the point).
When creating a Map Pack, they only need plan, create and play test the 3 maps, which is what they did for all other maps anyway, so why are they more expensive, considering most of the maps are worse than the originals.
IMO atleast four maps should be included in the pack.
Although to be honest this is the least of the problems Bungie has.

no, its more the fact that bungies story telling has gone down over 9000% since Halo CE was released.

Re: Halo 3: ODST ViDoc : Desperate Measures
ODST looks set to have a great story, you're an ODST stranded from your squad, alone in the Covenant controlled New Mombasa.
Very similar to CE, in that you're a Spartan stranded from the other Spartans, mostly alone on the Covenant controlled Halo.
It looks set to be an awesome plot.

over 9000%, Halo CE's story was just, do good.
Didn't they scrap Halo 2 and start anew like, 3 months before releasing the game?
