how so?
Google's business model is probably the least controlling of any company out there.
If you notice, they don't make things to make money, they make things to make the user experience better. That's how they've been. And it shows. Hi-quality free content.
Right.... and Nintendo loves their fans, and doesn't care about money either. That's why they're the only company that has actually MADE MONEY on hardware this generation.
I'm more talking about the Google Android, which Google has been VERY strict with retailers about. They're very controlling of their brand identity.

I'm not out to impress people, Recon. And actually, I liked A&A's gameplay better that what I played in that ETW demo.ReconToaster wrote:You're really hurting yourself here Civ.CivBase wrote:I disagree with you about ETW, but this isn't the place for it.
Also, you couldn't POSSIBLY be comparing Empire to a shitty game based on a board game and published by Atari could you?

Google phone, which uses google android OS.

And that says a lot...

there is no Google Phone. And Google doesn't make hardware.
The 'google phone' you're thinking of is most likely the HTC G1 which was the first commercial phone to run Android.

Re: Google Chrome OS.
The demo was lacking the campaign mode, which IS The Game.
The real time battles are amazing, but they only span the quick clashes between forces, whereas their counterpart the campaign spans the ages and global domination. EVERYTHING is in the campaign, nothing is in the battles. The battles are not fun without the campaign, end of story.

Re: Google Chrome OS.
Yeah, that demo was really more of just a tech demo, built to show you how impressive the visuals are. That's about it.

Tab browsing FTW.
Seriously. This may sound like a cheesy google advertisement... but I browse WAY faster than ever with Chrome. It's not just the ACTUAL speed of the browser (which is the fastest around) it's also the ease of opening new tabs, and the way that it auto-highlites suggestions. If I want to go to this website, all I have to do is type 'C' in the address bar, and hit enter... and it takes me to crimson flame. Admittedly, Safari and Netscape did that before, and Firefox is finally catching up...
But I'm sticking with chrome.

It's true. The amount of times I have searched google for 't' on other people's firefox is just annoying.

Re: Google Chrome OS.
Tabbed Browsing? Gosh, do you have everything right in front of you? I've been doing tabbed browsing for years. The only upside of chrome is how it breaks down data coming in. Making it streamlined and fast as possible. In other departments it could learn a thing or two from other browsers.

I know tabbed browsing has been around for a long time, but each chrome tab runs on a separate process, so each tab is running as fast and efficient as a single browser window would be.

Re: Google Chrome OS.
I like how the address bar in chrome has built in searches through lots of search engines, with the ability to add more.
and the chrome homepage with thumbnails for your top 9 sites is amazingly useful.

Re: Google Chrome OS.
Yeah, I can pretty much do a half hours worth of surfing the internet in about 30 seconds with the combined speed, tab browsing, and thumbnails of my most recent pages that Chrome provides. The only real downside to Chrome is that it is sometimes unsupported by certain applications, most of said problems have been fixed.
