Re: Cartoon Network...
Well, let me rephrase, the History channel fails. What it does right is outshown by what it does wrong. I just cant get over how NOTHING ever looks right before 1914. I cant call something reliable that has late 15th century Englishmen fighting vikings. the Last Stand of the 300, they pretty much said the spartans were the only ones that mattered. they waste time talking about FOOD, and I can learn more reading an Osprey book than watching a 2 hour special.
I could go on, but that should be enough.
PS: Imperial Roman Legions fighting Hannibal...fail.

It's all about how the history channel fails.

What's Osprey, and why should it be trusted over the History Channel?
And what's wrong with American Eats?
I loved that show.

Osprey is a company that accuratly depicts military history.
and I'm done here. There's no more point to this thread.

But so much of what you say is wrong.
I've never heard of the viking thing.
In the 300 special, they give a lot of credit to the Athenians, but obviously the focus of it is the Spartans.
And yes, Legions did fight Hannibal when he tried to conquer early Rome. Hell, he's practically the reason they began their continental expansion.
And I've still never heard of Osprey, post like a Wiki page or something.

Re: Cartoon Network...
So, basically, you're alternate source is a website that's a plug for selling fiction/non-fiction military books?
That's not really the best alternate.

Re: Cartoon Network...
they did a set of episodes on history's famous Barbarians, called BARBARIANS, that they show at least twice everyone 4 months. god, and the hannibal one.....I'll get back to you on that one. Saw that one a LONG time ago.
There's nothing fiction about it, and if you actually read them, instead of watching something on TV and assuming it's real, you'd realize your mistake.

Re: Cartoon Network...
Ha ha ha... BBC 4. Isn't that all like 'My house is untidy, so I'm going to get a bossy woman to shout at me for an hour - the show where a house is untidy, and a bossy woman shouts at them for an hour.'
To be fair some of them are good, but you must admit the majority is daytime garbage.
Ooops my bad I was thinking of BBC 3.
I like James May's ones on BBC 2.
