Re: Brink
It's out now. Has anybody played it?
I want a demo. I would probably buy it if I could find a demo and thought it was ok.
WDIT: Oh. Pre-purchase. Oh well. Probably for the best.
Still, any cheap FPS for PC people could reccomend?

It's free to play, but does have items you can pay for if that's your thing.

Re: Brink
^Yeah pretty what everybody has been saying for a while now. But It looks to be much more then just simply that.
I wish we could just take a game for what it is instead of always comparing it to others. Hard to do I know. I do it all the time too. It also helps for other people to have a general idea of the game, but still. Starts to get annoying after a while.
But I digress, what captured my attention first was the art style. Then when I saw the gameplay, so now it's on my list of interest.

Re: Brink
Cell shading is all the rage of late, I not sure if it's an artisic choice or just easier to program.
I described as such as it gives people a frame of reference and to be honest, While there is a lot out about the game, nothing beyond that moniker relly stands out as a completely new idea.

Re: Brink
Hmm, I don't know about that, how many games have actually been released as a full cell shaded game besides BL. This one only looks to have a little but not enough to be called a cell shaded game. At least to me.Vigil wrote:Cell shading is all the rage of late, I not sure if it's an artisic choice or just easier to program.
Like I said in the previous post. A way to generalize. But still is annoying when every new game comes the first thing to say is "looks like this". Again, hard not to do but still I think needs to be something we try and not do. But I'm guilty of it too so take that with a few grains of salt.Vigil wrote:I described as such as it gives people a frame of reference and to be honest, While there is a lot out about the game, nothing beyond that moniker relly stands out as a completely new idea.
And I disagree. This game seems to be putting more thought and effort then most games recently. Just because it has simular gameplay to other games doesn't mean it can't have some inovative properties of it's own.
This is all of course just simply my opinion and why I have such interest in the game.
