Terminator Salvation
So I uh... just got back from seeing it. It's 2:25 AM 2:45 AM and I have to get up for school at around six, so I'll make this quick, and post more tomorrow.
Visual effects of 'Transformers' + Visual effects of 'Dark Knight' + Story and acting of 'Water World' = Terminator Salvation
This movie is a bucket full of canon flaw, and inappropriate allusions. It is CERTAINLY not the war Sarah Conner told us about. It's something much more enriched with giant mechs and conveniently ergonomic Terminator-cycles. Complete disregard for nuclear radiation is abundant, and the story itself is nothing of the emotional mind fuck Kyle Reese described to the girl he impregnated.
To further my point, I feel it is necessary for me to reveal that Michael Ironside, the guy from Total Recall, Starship Troopers, and the command and conquer Cut-scenes, is in this movie. He plays just about as corny of a character as his role in Command and Conquer.
I'd recommend watching it, if only so that you can get a proper taste of fail. It wasn't as bad as Terminator 3. It feels like the director behind it at least respects the franchise, and was not so eager to exploit it with sex appeal. On it's own, it's ACTUALLY a pretty cool movie. When compared to something awful, like Transformers, it actually IS quite good. It is not, however, Terminator. It seems nothing will EVER be anywhere near as fantastic as the original.
Another swing and miss.... meh

4 hour sleep?
Sounds like lots and lots of fun to me.
Sounds like less fun than watching the movie.

The entire garden bit had my palm pressed firmly against my face.
Start was cool though.

it was hardly horrible. It was both coherent and straight shooting.

Re: Terminator Salvation
I didn't like Transformers. I thought it was dumb. That girl watched Shia LaDouche's car turn into a FUCKING 3 STORY TALL ROBOT and calmly said "You have weird friends."
WTF? I'm not asking for an amazing narative. I understand that it's all about robot fighting and CGI, but seriously, at least TRY to incorporate some decent character development, or dialog.
How about the part when he's trying not to wake his parents when the autobots are just running around his fron lawn. Would that REALLY be your first priority in the event of a alien robot invasion? To not get in trouble with your parents?

You're not allowed to laugh Death no More. You like Terminator 3...
Don't even get me started with Transformers 2. I saw the preview in the theater before Salvation came on. I guess Shia LaBeouf got tired of being part of the most amazing even in human history, and decided to get a new care, go off to college, and live a normal life.... WOW

Plus, they bring Megatron back from the grave, and Shia also has a piece of the allspark in his backpack, which I guess he never noticed...
Anyway, I know you said it's a bad terminator movie, but is it atleast a good movie in general?

Giant living sentient robots that come from another planet using no spacecraft but their own bodies.
Yeah, he couldn't possibly swim out of the ocean.

I think you take movies wayy too seriously toaster. Transformers was an amazing movie visually and I think it did have a good dialogue. . . although I do agree with you on that ONE "weird friends" part. Everything else was very good.

Re: Terminator Salvation
But those films were from our childhood!!
Sure I was born two years late to be part of the Transformer's mainstream - but I watched them! And I loved Terminator! It sucks that they've turned them into generic Hollywood kids' films.
Take any other film and do to it what you will - but leave the nineties(although in this case, eighties) alone!

If he wasn't dead, then of course he could. But, seeing as how he shoved the allspark into him, I would assumed he died.

Re: Terminator Salvation
I want them to make a ninja turtles like how they made tranformers. That newer cartoon movie was garbage. . . even though it wasn't mde for my age group. I would really like to see a TMNT movie like how Transformers is. Turn a cartoon into a action-packed explosive movie!

I take them seriously, yes. In transformer's case, it wasn't that I wanted an AMAZING, deep, artistically beautiful story line. I was just annoyed by how silly it often became. HE DISCOVERED BIG ASS ROBOTS... and he's afraid his parents might find out... WHAT?
I know that Transformers isn't about story, but that's just silly.
Anyways, Terminator is a whole different story. With Terminator, seeing as the first one was so brilliant, I EXPECT a great story line, and tone. That has not been delivered since the first movie. Two was good, but not by the same merits.

I like the transformers but the storyline is pretty weak.
Oh and Megatron is back in the new film......somehow being revived after having the allspark shoved in his chest.
