They get a lot of criticism. But come on, while not nearly as good as, say, Iron Maiden, they are defiantly harder. ( Someone call the "thats what she said")

I like them. And they are moslty using Alternative Metal, Nu- Metal and Heavy Metal. So I would say, yes, they are metal.
