Fuctioning Lasgun that can deliver 100KJ of power.
I will do research and try to build one over time, and likely fail, but at least I will give it a shot.


EDIT:
I found a starting point- there is a guide I found which shows you how to make a powerfll laser out of a DVD drive and afew other things, one powrefull enough to light stuff on fire at close distances, melt plastic, etc.

well, a 1 KJ laser could be powered with alot of batteries... A 100 Joule or smaller with a few batteries

A railgun might actually be easier... a very weak one, but still a rail gun.



To give an Example of a Joule
1 Joule = energy needed to lift a small apple 1 meter off of the ground

I'l probably have to use Flash Camera parts for the capacitors like with the Gauss Gun... What did you use for the Capacitors?

I'm surprised lasers haven't caught on more so in the military. So much potential... destruction without waist or pollution, and so easy to increase or decrease in size. Suppose it's just the lack of an efficient energy source?

Actually, they have caught on.

They're still developing a weapon out of it, but the most recent one I've heard of is a 747 with a laser("Directed Energy Weapon" to the military) attatched to the nose.

It takes a ton of power though.

Right now Im building one capable of Lighting something like a dark colored piece of clothing on fire or melt plastic. I bought all the arts today, assembling it over the next few days, I need to be carefull or I could break the diode

I made a miniature rocket once. It blew up when I tried to launch it. Sad
