Re: Forward Unto Dawn.
i'm confused. who is this character and why should I care about him?
if he is from the Forward unto Dawn then he should be dead, so him remembering all this stuff in the future doesn't make sense... they will try to tie him in with the MC in some way... but theres no way it will be anything other than consequential...
is this guy the captain of the ship in halo 4 or something? or in the marines that show up there?
confused, meh
also, just froma filmmaking standpoint their camerawork and screen design are pretty bad, I hope that gets better

Re: Forward Unto Dawn.
It follows Marines at Corbulo Academy of Military Science. I think the protagonist is the captain of the Infinity in Halo 4.
I like it so far.

god damn it
In regards for the guy being dead, didn't the elite fleet master pick up all the injured marines and such and brought them back? I could've sworn it was in game Dialog or something..

Re: Forward Unto Dawn.
Some dumb stuff in the 2nd one. (Helmet tracker that would always give away the position of the opposing squad if they had their helmets on, pretty bad training if they always know the position of the opposing squad imo)

Re: Forward Unto Dawn.
It's training them to use motion trackers. The helmets of the UNSC give off an IFF. Anything that doesn't is considered hostile. Naturally, they just configured it to appear enemy instead of friend. If you have the technology, you may as well use it, right?Elabajaba wrote:Some dumb stuff in the 2nd one. Training them to use motion trackers by having the trackers always show enemy positions even when they aren't moving seems kinda dumb.

Part 3 is out, and the suspense is killing me. They keep leaving off the action until later.

Re: Forward Unto Dawn.
We got a mid-season trailer too.
Personally, I think that episode #3 is my favorite of, well, just about all EU Halo fiction.

Re: Forward Unto Dawn.
So people are telling me that, despite Halo 4 looking pretty much awful, this Forward Unto Dawn thing is actually good. Can people who aren't fanboys who don't care to understand canon please confirm this for me?
Re: Forward Unto Dawn.
I can confirm its decent. it has its flaws, but it is decent
I think you can clearly call me not a fanboy, since I have no intention of getting Halo 4 and originally went into Forward Unto Dawn expecting it to suck

Re: Forward Unto Dawn.
I watched the first 5 minutes of it and I came out wanting to watch another 5 minutes so I guess it's pretty good.

I was convinced to watch it yesterday and watched the last two episodes. Little cliche, but I enjoyed watching it.

Re: Forward Unto Dawn.
The statue of the Roman general holding an assault rifle...the cadets are hastati, and there was a scene where she shouted orders at them in Latin. That pretty much did it for me.

If that warthog doesn't have like six pedals, I'm gonna be disappointed.

"Why are there six pedals and only four directions?"
Is that what you're referring to?
