Built in WiFi is cool... but by ready for Kinect does that mean that mine isn't? If so (insert thread title here)

Re: erm... wow to say the least...
Very easy because it's going to replace the current model and when compared to the premium package it makes sense.
-Has much larger hard drive (250GB compared with 20)
-Smaller
-Quieter
-Built in Wi-Fi
And both retail for the same price.
Kinda one sided, even without the HDMI cables.

Re: erm... wow to say the least...
Kinect is just the new name for the Natal. The new looking console is cool, but it has nothing to do with Kinect (though I'm sure they're bundled together).
It says at the bottom that it works with every console, but the current games list make me want to tear my eyes from their sockets:
-Dance Central: Another ripoff of DDR, I'm sure.
-Kinectimals: Seriously? I don't see the entertainment in these animal raising games. Most people have done better with free browser games.
-Kinect Sports: We knew it was going to happen, but it still deserves a facepalm all to itself.
-Kinect Joy Ride: A half-baked avatar racing game with no real thought put into it.
-Yourshape: Fitness Evolved: Finally, a new title without Kinect bloodily scratched in the name. Again, we knew it was coming... but WHY!?!?! (that was rhetorical, by the way)
-Kinect Adventures: Another avatar game full of simple already-done mini-games... and zero thought put into it.
-Zumba Fitness: Again? Two of the eight launch titles are EXERCISE GAMES? I'm speechless. Really, I am.
-Sonic Freeriders: I know nothing about this game, but Sonic's reputation proceeds him... and that's not a good thing. Still, I hate to say it, but it looks like it's the best launch title there is. Sad, but not surprising.
Really, MS should be PAYING people to take the Kinect just so they feel obligated to buy the games. Maybe they'd make a profit then... but I don't see much else at this rate. Just a few suckers who think they're getting in ahead of the game only to watch the price plummet before any real advances are made with it.

Re: erm... wow to say the least...
I don't get how they think they'll make any more money out of this (kinect) now the Wii's shovelware has been found out by the general public.
The new xbox does seem a good move - 1. for people who need a new xbox. 2 . if people are willing to shell out another 250 for something slightly more convenient then good for microsoft.

Re: erm... wow to say the least...
Still, do that to one of the original models and it doesn't do it that bad or that fast for that matter.
I've had a friends xbox tip over twice with the same game disc, and luckly it didn't get scratched or detroyed.
Point stands, they didn't fix the issue of it scratching disc. Granted he moved it, but xbox's have been know for destroying discs overtime. Seems they didn't really fix that. :/

Re: erm... wow to say the least...
I've lost a Halo 3 disc, a Gears of War 2 disc and a Halo Wars disc and a Red Alert 3 disc due to my 360 scratching them.
It's a serious problem. It got so bad on my last 360, I had to install all the games I was playing to reduce the time a disc was actually being used to stop it from being damaged.
If the new one could do that much damage that quickly, think about what it's going to be like when dust gets in there or as it wears with time. It could get much worse.

Re: erm... wow to say the least...
Exactly.
No other CD/disc based console that I can think of had this problem. I can only assume that it's not that hard to fix, so to have not done anything about it in this new brand new model, seems a little weak and shameful of them. I mean I'm not going to be stupid enough to move the Xbox while it's on, but like Vigil already said, it's an issue none the less.
That aside, the new Xbox still seems awesome and I would totally be getting one if I didn't just buy my new one only months ago.

Re: erm... wow to say the least...
Do you think MS just put a razor blade in the disk reader as an added feature? No. It seems the disk is rotating faster, meaning faster reading and less loading time and lag. I think. Right?Divine Virus wrote:...

Re: erm... wow to say the least...
All I know is. The Xbox is the only console that does this. Why can't they get it right / fix it?CivBase wrote:Do you think MS just put a razor blade in the disk reader as an added feature? All the other consoles seem to have perfectly fine loadtimes. As far as I know.
