I can't say that i'm aware of much that the army does...... However i can find out from people i do know in the army. Perhaps the Army choose not to train all people in infantry first is because there are some that only go over to do trade jobs such as mechanic. Not all people want to be trained as infantry. That's probably the only advantage that marines have over the army if you could call it an advantage... It really just depends on what you want to do....
