Re: Reach
Saw this on Bungie, hopefully it will win.
The planet, though, is nothing like Reach.

Re: Reach
Yeah Reach isn't a huge ocean planet at a temperature of 300+ degree's farenheit...
But still

Re: Reach
I can't wait until they can find planets the relative size of Earth.
Then my precious New Mercury will have the possibility of existing!

Re: Reach
Anywho, on another note, terraforming
What a wonderful sight indeed, a terraformed Mars! Just what Carl Sagan would want.
EDIT: Image was large...

Re: Reach
I'm against naming it Reach. The planet itself is nothing like Reach, and I'm sure we'll find plenty of more appropriate planets in the future. Wasting a name like Reach now on a planet that is only "earth-like" because there is water is just a shame.
Re: Reach
Noooo!!!
Do we really want to name a possibly very important planet after something that probably wont even be popular in ten years?

Hmmm... now that you think about it you're right. I didn't vote personally, but I don't think that "Siberia" is going to win

You really over estimate "people". They wouldn't probably wouldn't even get the comedy in that.

Re: Reach
The page I looked at had more Reach and only one Siberia. I think the Siberia was a widget anyway.

On the other hand, does it have a hellhole of an iceball twin? Siberia Prime needs a real-life counterpart.Rotaretilbo wrote:I'm against naming it Reach. Then don't vote on the name...

Re: Reach
I didn't outright deny the existence of life on that planet dud, there is a very good chance indeed, however, it would be a very exotic form of life.

Re: Reach
I'd imagine that if life did survive on that planet, it would have to be durable as hell.
There's no way to tell how deep the oceans are right now, but if life did exist, it would have to be pretty deep down to escape the extreme heat, or be very resistant to the heat itself.
