Letter to Nasa
Hello members abroad, I am writing to Nasa to request high resolution images of the earth, but I need your help to refine the request (I don't write good letters). So I would like to ask if you could read the letter, and either proof read, or perhaps write an altogether better letter that I could send to Nasa requesting the images.
Thanks!
Greetings Nasa:
I was wondering if it was possible to ask for high quality images of certain areas on earth. I am trying to make 3 dimensional models of particular areas on earth and for the most part, I have been successful. Now I am working on making 3d representations of Puerto Rico, South Africa, and Australia. I am not sure how high a resolution you can achieve with your cameras, but I would like for the images to be about 150 miles wide and 125 miles tall with the highest possible resolution, also if it is possible, I would ask for the images to be mostly cloudless (if it is possible). Mainly I was curious to whether or not Nasa grants special image requests, but if so, I will respond with further details on the request.
Sincerest Regards,
Ethan Nino
Thanks!

alright guys, scrap the new pictures of jupiters moons project, we have to take a picture of some Small ass island noone cares about, some balck guys shooting each other, and a kangaroo with our 120 billion USD Hubble, just because some kid wrote a good paragraph on why he wants it done...
best of luck tho!
(yes i am that much of an ass to point out the obvious that much)

Try to kiss ass more, state your reasoning(more than you have) as to why you want it done and fix Nasa to NASA

He he, I realize its a steep request, but they must have satellites constantly taking pictures of earth, it cant take that much work to punch in a few numbers in a computer to get it to take the picture.
Ill change it to NASA

Re: Letter to Nasa
You might also want to include what they will gain by taking said pictures. Pictures cost money, and the first thing a company wants to know is what they will have to gain. Include something along the lines of "You will receive rights to my models" or anything else you can come up with. If you like, I can rewrite it for you, however I think Rasq would do a better job than me.

True, but he still has a point.
NASA is a government organization, and is therefore government funded.
This basically means that it has a fixed income and a relatively tight budget.
They simply may not have the time or money to take the pictures.

Re: Letter to Nasa
Furthermore, your request is more than steep. High resolutions of the continents requested in the size you requested? Low resolution pictures of those areas are still comprised of thousands of individual pictures. I can't imagine how many pictures would need to be taken to meet your demands.

Re: Letter to Nasa
They probably already HAVE the pictures, it's just a matter of getting them to send him them. Still, I doubt you'll get the resolution you are asking for. I'd suggest shrinking your request to a much smaller size.
If I were you, I'd be prepared to have your request denied.
Greetings NASA,
I'm [insert name here], and I am working on a project to create three-dimensional representations of different areas of Earth for [insert cause here]. Currently, I am working on Puerto Rico, South Africa, and Australia. It is going well, but now I need nigh quality pictures of these three countries and I was hoping you could help. If you have any high resolution pictures of these countries on file that I could use, I would be forever grateful. I'd prefer them to cover about 22,500 square miles if at all possible, without too much area obscured by clouds.
I wasn't sure whether NASA grants special requests for satellite images, but I figured it would give it a try. Where better to get high quality satellite images than from the people who own the satellites? If you would like more information or simply deny my request, you can contact me at [insert email here]. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this request.
Sincerest Regards,
[insert actual name here]

Re: Letter to Nasa
Best way to introduce yourself and to introduce your request is to start of by saying something like
"Currently I am making a 3D model for so and so assignment at school in whatever year level. For this task, I need blah blah blah images, so forth"
If you want, I can rewrite it and fix up the structure a little bit but yeah, you've covered most of the things that you're trying to request which is good and you're straight to the point.
For once my advice (criticism) is wanted. :3
Also, why don't you email it as well? It will be prompter, but the chances of it being received by somebody higher up are probably slimmer.

That revised letter has a couple spelling errors, but I guess it's too late now. I hope you fixed them.
