Nintendo Controller Evolution

the gamecube controller is basically the 360 controller minus triggers....

the worst part is that everything that they say is true

except the gamecube stuff

since modern gaming controllers have a lot more buttons than that in a very similar configuration.

and they also over simplified the wiimote since it does have a large number of buttons for being 'two sticks'

lol i liked the nintendo 64 one.

The N64 controller always confused me. I always held the middle grip in my left hand, and the far right one in my right hand.

Reason number three for why Nintendo fails.

They change their controller setup for almost every console instead of improving the current controller.

You know I could start a massive flame war in this thread as well just by mentioning a single word...

ummmm... bullshit. Aside from buttons used for things like Volume control, and the dashboard, it has ONE button, a D-pad, and a trigger.

But I agree with Civ (that feels weird to write.) The problem that I see with Nintendo is that they don't have faith in the power of software.

They keep on trying to take an entirely new approach on hardware... disguising it as innovation. The real issue is that other hardware manufacturers, like Microsoft and Sony, are starting to think this way too. I don't understand the urge to completely alter they way we play games. Why can't we just continue to improve upon our current way of playing games? We still have a long way to go.

On Topic: I'm a Nintendo fanboy I love all their controllers and consoles. I owned them all at least once. Except for the the Wii. I still want one I don't care what anybody says about it I still want one.

I liked the 64 controller also, it seemed to work well enough for me. The 360 controller is just the best thing ever made. The PS3 is mad of squares and tubes and feels to light and flimsy. Where as the 360 is moulded to your hand and feels strong, not to mention excellent triggers

I have a Wii but I don't know where it is as I haven't used it in half a year. Is till play the gamecube frequently. I used to play GC games on the Wii but the wii takes ages to load and insists you use the Wiimote.

Last time I played a Wii however was thursday. I will admit it is a fantastic console if you're waiting for your friend to go in a shower for ten minutes before you go out - but nothing more.

One thing I will say in the Wii's defence: it knows the joy of multiplayer. Sure the games may suck but at least you can still mostly play with other people with one disc, and for the most part it's encouraged.

this doesn't make any sense

the wii loads gamecube games faster than the gamecube

and you can only use gamecube controllers on the Wii when playing GC games....

I just want to say, I'm gonna fight this until I die of carpal tunnel, simply because Wii is Japanese.

1. You still haven't given a real reason

2. The reasons you've given seem casual

3. You're 2 years older than me, and I think most of the people on the site are about 18-20 anyway.
