Gears Vs. Halo

Nothing in GoW can compare to Forge then, and Training matches probably can't compare to full-fledged multiplayer. Also, MLG is highly tactical small gameplay.

Have you ever played Halo? MC has one of the most immersing character backstories ever. The reason I really like him is because he is silent, and when he talks, he is actually adding to the story, not conversing more efficient ways of killing guys that have had there territory rightfully fucked over. The silence adds to that feeling of "I am protagonist A", such as Half Life's Gordon Freeman, or better yet, the nameless guy in Jupiter Strike.

At least they were actual maps that could be edited and had great effects, placement, and overall could have many different uses. Gears just adds more bland places that allow you to kill more people in a few slightly changed environments.

Not to say Gears 2 is a bad game-I've had my fair share of random killing fun. It's just, IMO, worse than Halo. Not saying Halo 3 is all "ub3r 1337 OMG sn1p3r", it has it's flaws. I think that sums it up nicely.

Yes I have played all three Halo games and have read every halo book.

Uh no. The only map in Halo 3 that I found interesting was Cold Storage and Assembly simply because of the other ambient stuff going on around you. Other than that everything else was eh. They were good for gameplay purposes but overall they had nothing that made you want to stop and look around some.

The Gears maps have beautiful environments (thanks to the Unreal Engine which is far superior to Halo 3's game engine) and if you actually stop and look around, there is a lot more stuff to see than you think.

The novel could have been the best book in the whole damn world, the campaign was still shit and and didn't immerse me enough for me to buy the paperback.
