Re: Swine Flu
As does Influenza itself and every other virus out there. What makes the Swine Flu any different?Kasrkin Seath wrote:It literally has more potential to mutate into something deadlier than other strains of Influenza
Re: Swine Flu
More than other strains.
Other viruses are not as likely to spread or mutate as quickly
There is currently no vaccine to fight Swine Flu or a variation.
Thats why it is a problem
Otherwise its not an issue at all
It is not nearly as bad as the media makes it sound however.

Re: Swine Flu
The swine flu is almost the same strain of influenza as the Human Flu...
They can mutate at the same rate, as they do every year.
Each year the flu is different through mutation, and flu vaccinations for this reason, usually do not help.
Vaccinations are based on (For the human flu) on what strain they think it will be that year. They are usaully wrong, and it ends up with a failure to protect from that years flu.
The swine flu is the same case, but if a vaccination is created, then it will be able to help because it is the same strain. Vaccinations have the actual flu in them, only a tiny bit though. They put it in your body so that your defense in your body can prepare for it. Since it is a small amount it barley affects you, you won't even feel the affects, but your body still will recognize it, and protect against it.

Re: Swine Flu
But, you fail tor ealize that H1N1 is a new strain. For other strains, mutations are still alike enough to the original to be dealt with by the Human Body effectively.
Without any natural defenses specifically against H1N1, a mutation could occur and then basically ROFLSTOMP the immune system.
They do not mutate at the same rate. Most mutations occur within a host. The more cases of infection, the higher chances of mutation. Combine that with the fact there are not natural antibodies targeting H1N1 and it allows it to spread more easily.

Which will help cleanse the world of people who can't mutate there immune system fast enough... We will find out who has a good immune system!!!! WOOT!

I can just imagine Terrorists use Swine Flu instead of Anthrax.

Its not deadly, and its not likely to become deadly, but the chances are higher than with other strains of Flu.

Like how Joe Bidden is going crazy about how one of the whitehouse security guards caught it...He swore off taking public transportation along with telling his family to do as such, hes gonna cause like a panic when he says, and does stuff like thatKasrkin Seath wrote:Not necesarrily
It literally has more potential to mutate into something deadlier than other strains of Influenza, hence why teh Gov is reacting like it is.
Yes, the media is blowing it out of proportion though, and using it to make money

Re: Swine Flu
It makes you wonder, though....
How long will it be before the flu beings to mutate faster than we can keep up with? Not just the swine flu, either....
Anyone ever read the whole Ender's Game series? I think it's the Xenocide book that talks about them being on a planet that has some sort of plant virus that kills their crops and mutates faster than they can accommodate for it, and just keep getting faster.... you think that might ever happen with another virus on Earth?

A flu does not want to mutate. It is completely accidental. They only mutate like humans mutate. But being reproduced so fast and in so many numbers the 1 in a million chance happens every day. These mutations are good and bad. Most are bad and that flu dies. They cannot mutate faster unless they reproduce faster. They cannot change how fast they reproduce as it is instinct.
I read Ender's Shadow, Ender's Game, and the other one after Ender's Game, Speaker for the Dead.
I read part of Xenocide as well.
'Descolada' was in Xenocide. The native pig creatures were adapted to it but the humans weren't. The virus adapted quickly.
That was I remember.

WRONG. there are vaccines for fighting Swine Flu variations...they're called FLU SHOTS.
Swine Flu is just the newest Flu, so stfu.
Either way, I'm safe. My immune system adapts faster than viruses. srsly.

Re: Swine Flu
Hmm......did you know that Human Bird Flu been around since 1998?
It's probably been around for a while, and only now it's spreading.
It is Influenza. It's a nasty virus, but it's very likely you'll recover.
As for it mutating, it's possible, but it's highly improbable, they are many strains of Influenza and they do mutate, but not at the rate of other Viruses.

Re: Swine Flu
I found an article saying that the swine-flu is just like a ordinary flu just that no one is immune to it, therefore the deaths.
I would link it, but I doubt any of you guys understand Norwegian.
