The Lord of the Rings was a good movie if you get past the fact that Tom Bombadil isn't in there.

Re: best movie
Not in any particular order... the ones I REALLY like are at the top.
Apocalypse Now!
The Dark Knight
V for Vendetta
Black Hawk Down
The Terminator
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (Why did we have to wait 15 years for the third movie to come out?)
The Prestige (GO WATCH IT NOW!)
LoTR
The Matrix
Insomnia
The Final Cut
Princess Bride
I haven't seen "Saving Private Ryan".
And was "Apt Pupil" any good? I LOVED the book.

Saving Private Ryan is an amazing movie. It's pretty old but it is still one of the best (if not the best) war movie around.

Should I watch Dune?
I mean... people seem to be saying it's amazing and it's terrible. Has anyone seen it?

considering he saved frodo's and the other hobbits lives, he was like one of the main characters.

I don't know whether or not the movie's good, but I know many say that it's one of the greatest Sci-Fi books in existence. I plan to read it soon.

There's a shopping centre about 30 mins drive from me with a Boarders - but it takes 1 hr 30 to get there by bus and I reaaaaaly have no incentive to go there other than the 5 min task. On the other hand I might just drop in next time I'm in Manchester.... Or Birmingham on Saterday.

Ehm.... religion and politics and environmental science and awesome sci-fi that George Lucas ripped off to his hearts content. Plus the pure liquid awesomeness of the LOTR series.ReconToaster wrote:Cheese wrote:Should I watch Dune?

Doesn't quite have the kick-assery of Heinlein, but this is one of the few books in existence that ought to have it's entirity inscribed onto paladium tablets in every major language known to man, buried in a bombproof and earthquake-proof shelter with an inert nitrogen environment, just so that we can be assured that our great great great grandchildren will not be deprived.

Good!
In the meantime, I have to finish Catch-22, read Eon, check up on a sequel to "Well of Stars", and write some of my own stuff.
