Daft Punk is okay IMO
their songs were good first few times listening to em, but the repetitiveness of a lot of their songs make them boring half way through...
BUT i do have their soundtrack from Tron Legacy which is good because you know... it wasnt the same thing for 10mins XP

Isn't that a main theme in a lot of techno/electronica?

Re: Daft Punk!!!
Actually, no. At least from what i listen to which is mainly Dance, Trance, and a lil Dubstep (In the electronica catagory may i add! I listen to a lot of varied music =P) The very good songs are not the same looping sound again and again IE Around the World, but they use many looping sounds in varying combinations throughout the song. Making every section of the song noticeably different, A good example of this is....Gauz wrote:Isn't that a main theme in a lot of techno/electronica?

I can say the same thing to quite a lot of dubstep.

Re: Daft Punk!!!
The electronica I listen to is usually House/Techno or Dubstep and it goes like most songs do. You know, with a "chorus" part and then the beat n shit.
I like deadmau5
Also I'm tempted to post One Direction but I know y'all'd just hate on me Maybe not Vigil, since he may share some deep patriotic bond with them (cuz they're from the UK).

One Direction were created on the X Factor, a show I made a long rant about on this site a few years ago.
I've got no love for those little bastards.

Re: Daft Punk!!!
where's your rant? I'm quite intrigued, because I quite like it b/c I think it's one of the better singing and performance shows on the T.V.
I just want to see your opinion. Imma try to find it too.
1. The judges on the X-Factor (US) are pretty well qualified to do their job. L.A. Reid, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, and Simon Cowell all have very much experience in the music industry. (I know you were talking about the UK version, but I don't have an opinion of it since I'm from... the US.)
2. All of these shows are money making schemes for whoever made them, otherwise they wouldn't make them. This really isn't a problem.
3. To win the show you need what every good music artist should have. Stage presence and a good singing voice. The show judges both of these, and it does it quite well. It kind of is a popularity contest, and that's for a reason.
The X-Factor really isn't a bad show, but if you're not into these singing competition shows (or into Pop music) I can see why you wouldn't like it.
